Beleaguered Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will seek some home comfort when they host the heavyweights Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday. Winless in their first four games, RCB desperately need to win the upcoming game to keep their playoff hopes alive. Nothing much has worked for the Virat Kohli-led side this season as they languish at the bottom of the table.
From getting all out for 70 to conceding 231, the Royal Challengers have experienced some extreme results from their first four games of the season. RCB are coming to this game after suffering a seven-wicket loss at the hands of Rajasthan Royals. Asked to bat first, they could manage only 158 for 4 with Kohli and AB de Villiers failing to deliver again. The bowlers then did well to take the game deep but as many as four dropped catches hurt the Royal Challengers as they lost the game in the final over.
The Knight Riders, on the other hand, will be looking to get back to winnings ways after losing to Delhi Capitals in the Super Over. The KKR had done extremely well to keep the game alive and even put them in the driver’s seat eventually after being reduced to 61 for 5 while asked to bat first. However, they could not score the required 11 runs in the one over against Kagiso Rabada.
As far as stats are concerned, Knight Riders have traditionally dominated this fixture. In 23 meetings between these two teams so far, the Knight Riders have won 14 compared to Royal Challengers’ 9. The Knight Riders also have a 6-3 win-loss ratio in Bangalore and had won both the games against the Bangalore-based outfit last year.
How will be the weather:
The weather will be partly cloudy and the temperature will hover in the high 20s when these teams lock horns on Friday. According to Accuweather, the temperature will be around 29 Degrees Celsius at the start of the game but will drop down to around 25 towards the end. There are no predictions of rain but the cloud cover will be 26%. The humidity will range between 22% and 39% during the game.
