The second clash of Saturday will see a mouth-watering contest between the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. While both the teams have had contrasting fortunes in the league so far, they are entering the contest on the back on comprehensive wins. Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently at the top of the table after winning three of their four games while Mumbai are sixth with two wins and as many losses.
In their last outing, Mumbai Indians dismantled the CSK to condemn the defending champions to their first loss of the season. It was not a very dominating performance from the three-time winners but they peaked just at the right time to beat their fancied opponents by 37 runs. Asked to bat first, Mumbai Indians had managed to score just 125 in the 18 overs.
However, Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard fired on all cylinders to take the score to 170. The bowlers then did a fine job to restrict the Super Kings to 133 for 8. Mumbai, however, will have to change their winning combination as they will have to replace Lasith Malinga who is currently in Sri Lanka for the Super Four Provincial Limited Over Tournament.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, are entering the contest after thrashing Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets. Almost everything went right for the Sunrisers against Delhi as they first restricted the Shreyas Iyer-led side to 129 for 8 before chasing down the total without breaking much of a sweat. Sunrisers’ bowling was looking off-colour in the first two games but Mohammad Nabi‘s inclusion has changed their fortunes. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, too, ended a poor, wicketless run with 2 for 27 against Delhi.
With both the teams in good form at the moment, the upcoming contest promises to be a blockbuster. The last time these two teams had met, it had turned out a low-scoring thriller. Mumbai were bowled out for 87 in a chase of 119.
How will be the weather?
As far as the weather is concerned, there are no real worries. According to AccuWeather, there is no prediction of rain. The temperature will be around 31 Degrees Celsius at the start of the game but will come down in the 20s as the game progresses. The cloud cover will be minimal while the humidity will be around 29-36%.
