More or less, the fate is repeating for both the teams much like the previous seasons. Just the roles are reversed this time. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are stuck to the bottom right from the start like the Delhi franchise used to do. And the Delhi Capitals (DC) started off well and are now falling apart if the last couple of matches are taken into consideration. Nevertheless, it will be a contest to watch out for with both the teams absolutely desperate for two points.

More so for the RCB who came agonisingly close the other day only for Andre Russell to snatch the victory from their hands to keep them winless. As a team, the Bangalore franchise is coming together slowly but surely. Though the time is running out for them and need to win around seven to eight matches to qualify for the playoffs. Virat Kohli is known to bring out the best in him in these situations and one still can’t rule out the 2016-like performance from him.

The Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have surprisingly lost the momentum they gained after the stunning win over KKR. They are falling apart and should quickly make amends for their poor show in the last couple of matches. They are making a lot of changes to the line-up in every game and might have to stick to the same group of players to reap rich rewards.

Pitch and Conditions

The Chinnaswamy pitch was full of runs on Friday. If the same pitch is used for this encounter, it might turn a bit as the game progresses. But surely, it will be a graveyard for the bowlers and expect yet another run-fest. As far as the weather is concerned, the sun will be baking down at 4 PM. The temperature will hover in the mid-30s during the game and there will be dew in the second half of the match after the lights take effect.

Team Combinations

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

Mohammed Siraj couldn’t handle the pressure the other day with the ball and in the field as well. He dropped two catches and then bowled a couple of beamers at the crucial stage in the game. He was taken out of the attack in the 18th over and that cost RCB the game eventually. He might get replaced by Umesh Yadav for this game. Pawan Negi will continue to play despite four left-handers playing in DC’s top five.

Probable XI: Virat Kohli (c), Parthiv Patel (wk), AB de Villiers, Marcus Stoinis, Moeen Ali, Akshdeep Nath, Pawan Negi, Tim Southee, Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

The Capitals have no place at the top of the order with all the talented batsmen. Colin Munro has to play and might get a new role if he plays in this game. With small boundaries on offer, the visitors might ponder over his inclusion in place of Colin Ingram who has struggled in the last few matches. The rest of the team might be the same.

Probable XI: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Colin Ingram, Chris Morris, Axar Patel, Rahul Tewatia, Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Sandeep Lamichhane.

Probable Top Performers

Virat Kohli – RCB | Rishabh Pant – DC
