The Delhi Capitals bagged full points from both their games against the Kolkata Knight Riders this season as they cruised to a 7-wicket win at the Eden Gardens. Shubman Gill utilized the opportunity of opening the batting with a 39-ball 65 while Andre Russell’s 21-ball 45 helped KKR to finish with 178/7. Shikhar Dhawan’s unbeaten 97 held the key in the chase as he added 105 with Rishabh Pant (46) in only 11.3 overs. The visiting team completed the chase with seven deliveries to spare.

A rare win for Delhi:

2 – Only the 2nd time the Delhi Capitals have defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. The Delhi team came on top of KKR during the 2012 season game. KKR have defeated the Delhi franchise at home on nine instances including five times in previous five meetings before this game.


Dhawan’s T20 hundred wait continues:

3 – Number of scores in the 90s for Shikhar Dhawan in the IPL; the joint second most for any player in the league. David Warner has five scores in the 90s while Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell have three 90s apiece in the IPL.


50 – Shikhar Dhawan’s unbeaten 97 is his highest individual score and his 50th fifty in the Twenty20 format. He is the 14th player to score 50 fifty-plus scores and the 10th player with 50 fifties in the Twenty20 cricket.


Dhawan goes past Gambhir:

754 – Shikhar Dhawan became the first Indian to hit 750+ fours in the Twenty20 format. He went past Gautam Gambhir’s tally of 747 fours in Twenty20s with the 11 fours he hit in this game.


Milestones galore for Russell:

6Andre Russell has scored 40 or more in all the six innings in this IPL season. He is only the 2nd player to hit six or more consecutive 40+ scores in an IPL season. Robin Uthappa had ten 40+ scores in a succession during the 2014 edition also for KKR.


7 – With the wicket of Shreyas Iyer, Russell completed 50 wickets in the IPL. Thus, he became only the 7th player in the IPL with the all-round double of 1000+ runs and 50+ wickets.


Ingram @ 6000:

5,960 – Colin Ingram became the 4th South African to complete 6,000 runs in Twenty20 cricket with the six he hit to finish the game. Among the Proteas, only AB de Villiers (7,569), David Miller (6,318) and JP Duminy (6,076) have scored 6,000+ T20 runs before Ingram.
