The Delhi Capitals (DC) have registered two of their best wins this season against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). On Friday, they defeated the side by 7 wickets and brought out one of their most comprehensive performances. Now, within 48 hours time, they will be back on the field as they take the flight to Hyderabad for their next battle.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) haven’t had the best of time in the last few days. They have also had about a week’s break and could be slightly rusty. Thus, it makes a great case for Delhi Capitals to upset them and better their record against the ‘Men in Orange’.
Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Delhi Capitals (DC):
Openers (Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw)
Shikhar Dhawan will be up against his former team yet again in the tournament. But this time, he has got some runs under his belt and has also got a fabulous record while playing at Hyderabad. His unbeaten 97 in the last match will bolster his confidence and he’ll look to keep going strong.
Prithvi Shaw is in a turbulent spot at the moment. The 20-year-old hasn’t been able to mould his game according to the situation. He has only gone aggressive or defensive and there is nothing to balance it out. The youngster has got a massive responsibility on his shoulders heading into the next match and should look to play more sensible cricket.
Middle Order (Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Colin Ingram)
DC skipper Shreyas Iyer suffered a rare failure in the last game. He played one down the leg-side in the last match but couldn’t make enough contact to keep it away from the keeper. Iyer has been leading the side well and will continue batting at three.
Rishabh Pant and Colin Ingram are the other two batsmen in the middle order. Pant is in good form and is doing well for the team. However, he isn’t playing with the right temperament and is throwing his wicket away. In the brief duration, he was out there in the middle, Colin Ingram did a decent job and finished the game with a six for his team.
All Rounders (Chris Morris, Axar Patel, Rahul Tewatia)
Delhi Capitals will continue with Chris Morris, Axar Patel and Rahul Tewatia in the all-rounder’s department. Morris has been doing a decent job with the ball. He is picking up some important wickets but might not need to bowl at the death in this game. Hence, he is expected to make a bigger impact if he gets all his four overs within the first 15 overs.
Axar Patel will continue in the eleven and has been quite economical. He wasn’t tested completely as yet with the bat. Rahul Tewatia had nothing do in the last game. The leg spinner didn’t bowl a single over but will have a big role to play in this game. He will fancy picking up the wicket of Jonny Bairstow.
Bowlers (Trent Boult, Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma)
Trent Boult is likely to replace Keemo Paul for this game. Delhi bowlers seem to be struggling at the death and Boult is expected to give some relief to the side. He has played only one match this season and will have to make the most of the opportunity if he gets one.
Kagiso Rabada and Ishant Sharma will be the other two pacers in the team. The South African has been playing brilliantly and is one of the biggest strength to the team. Ishant Sharma did well in the last match and will hold on to his spot in the eleven.
