Mumbai Indians will be eyeing a swift return to the winning ways when they take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) who will be desperate to make the most of their first win of the season. Both the teams will enter the contest on the back of contrasting results in their previous encounters. While Mumbai Indians lost a close game to Rajasthan Royals, RCB beat Kings XI Punjab to finally open their account this season.

Mumbai Indians, who were on a three-match winning run before taking on the Royals, posted a challenging total of 187 for 5. However, the visitors rode on their star opener Jos Buttler’s whirlwind knock of 88 to register just their second win of the season. The Royals suffered a mini-collapse towards the end of the game which allowed Mumbai to claw their way back but Shreyas Gopal kept his nerve to take his side over the line.

On the other hand, the RCB got the better of the Kings XI Punjab to end their six-match losing streak. Riding on the fifties from Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, they chased down 174 in the last over to keep alive their slim hopes of making it to the next round.

With the momentum and the renewed confidence with them, RCB will look to gain the two points at the Wankhede. Both the teams, meanwhile, have already met once this season. Mumbai Indians had won that thrilling high-scoring contest which was marred by a no-ball which wasn’t called. Kohli & Co. will definitely be desperate to avenge that bitter loss tonight.

The high-voltage clash is unlikely to face any interruptions from the nature. According to AccuWeather, there is no prediction of rain during the match time. However, there will be a considerable amount of cloud in the Mumbai sky with the weather report predicting a cloud coverage between 36-30%. The humidity will make it a tough experience for the players and the spectators as it will hover in the 70s. As far as the temperature is concerned, it will be around 30 degree celsius.
