The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) made it two in two against the Rajasthan Royals this season; that too while defending a total. KL Rahul scored quite slowly in the first half of the KXIP innings before he finished with a 47-ball 52. Contributions from the other end pushed the hosts to 182/6 in 20 overs. The Rajasthan Royals were in the driver’s seat after the first ten overs of the chase. However, a poorly planned second half cost them big time as they fell 12 runs short of KXIP’s total.

2 – Only the 2nd player of the match award in the IPL for Ravichandran Ashwin. He scored an unbeaten 17 from four balls and took 2/24 in his four overs. His first player of the match award effort in the IPL came during the 2010 edition for the Chennai Super Kings against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Ashwin took 3/16 in his four overs during the game played in Chennai.

Chris Morris had an S/R 309.09 during his 34* off 11 balls against SRH during the 2015 season while Krishnappa Gowtham also scored 33* from 11 deliveries against the Mumbai Indians in the previous season.


Turner bags a hat-trick:

3 – Ashton Turner’s golden duck in this game was his 3rd consecutive duck in the Twenty20 format. He bagged a duck in the last league game of the BBL 2018/19 and was dismissed for a duck during the T20I against India played in Vizag.


A high-scoring game without big scores:

52 – KL Rahul’s 52 is the highest individual score in the KXIP-RR game where the aggregate was 352 runs. This is only the 3rd IPL game with a match-aggregate of 350+ runs where the highest individual score was 52 or lower.

Sunil Narine’s 50 was the highest score during the KKR-RCB game in 2018 where both the teams collectively aggregated 353 runs. As many as three players scored 52 during the 2016 season game between Kings XI and Delhi also played in Mohali which also had an aggregate of 353 runs.
