Well!! Despite scoring 213 runs batting first, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were not sure if they will win this game. Andre Russell came out to bat and as expected, changed the complexion of the game like anything. He was hitting sixes for fun once again and it came down to the last over yet again with 24 runs to get for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Rather one should credit Marcus Stoinis for taking up the responsibility in the penultimate over and concede just a single run off the first three balls. Even that run came off a wide but then it was Russell in front of him and he smacked him for three sixes then. Moeen Ali was handed over the ball and despite conceding the six off his first ball, the England spinner didn’t get flustered.

He kept his cool and made things tough for Russell who was batting at 65 with nine sixes and two fours to his name. Finally, he was run-out when the result was decided and finally, RCB won the game but not before the mighty scare Russell gave them.

Kohli and Moeen manhandle KKR

Earlier it was all about Moeen Ali first and then Virat Kohli. Both the batsmen literally manhandled the KKR bowling attack. After getting their eyes in, the duo never relented in the last seven overs. Rather, the real assault began in the 16th over when Kuldeep Yadav was smacked by Moeen Ali for as many as 27 runs in a single over.

Kohli took over the onus after Ali’s wicket and played some of the classical strokes in the textbook. It was proper cricketing shots from the RCB skipper that took him to a 56-ball century. The vociferous celebration followed then which literally never stopped. Though he got out off the last ball of the innings, Kohli had done enough damage. RCB posted a mammoth total of 213 runs for the loss of four wickets after 20 overs.

In the end, it was just enough as this time around, Andre Russell could win it for KKR. Rather RCB bowled a bit better in the death overs to snatch the victory by just 10 runs.
