In the last few seasons, never have the Delhi Capitals (DC) performed so well in the IPL. The side has won six out of ten games thus far and have nearly made it to the playoffs. After the triumph against the Kings XI Punjab in their last game, the Capitals have flown to Jaipur next to face the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

DC has got the eleven well-sorted at the moment. It looks well balanced but there are still a few loopholes. The openers haven’t been at their best as yet. Also, the middle-order seems to be a real concern for the team. However, they would like to maintain the consistency with the eleven and there might not be many changes to the eleven.

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Delhi Capitals (DC):

Openers (Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan)

This highly talented Prithvi Shaw has been a major failure this season. Except for the 99 that he scored against KXIP, there hasn’t been anything notable that he’s done so far. The youngster should look to build the innings and should take a cue from the way his skipper Shreyas Iyer is playing.

The message is clear and Shikhar Dhawan has been given the licence to attack at the top. However, he has got to maintain the same kind of intensity throughout the innings. After having got off to an excellent start in the last game, Dhawan slowed down as his innings progressed. The left-hander’s focus should be on bringing the gap between runs and balls down.

Middle Order (Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Colin Ingram)

Shreyas Iyer has led the side beautifully in the tournament. He is getting better with his captaincy as well with every game that he plays. Iyer should continue being the anchor in the side and must bat throughout the 20 overs. A lot of Delhi’s fortunes will depend on the way he bats.

Rishabh Pant has been playing pretty much similar to Prithvi Shaw. However, the wicket-keeper batsman has disappointed more than the youngster. Pant has got off to good starts in almost every game but has thrown it away every time. He will have Colin Ingram to back him up in the middle order who is quite an experienced campaigner.

All Rounders (Axar Patel, Chris Morris)

Axar Patel is an important part of the DC set-up. He bowls economical overs and the Jaipur stadium has got long boundaries. Thus, Patel will be hoping to pick some important wickets during the middle overs. The Gujarat cricketer is also useful with the bat down the order.

Chris Morris is likely to come back into the team in place of Sherfane Rutherford. Since he can bowl, the South African adds another dimension to the eleven. Rutherford hasn’t done much wrong. He came way too down the order and just scored two runs. With the ball, he bowled one over and conceded 5 runs. But he might have to sacrifice his place.

Bowlers (Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra, Sandeep Lamichhane, Ishant Sharma)

The Delhi Capitals will play two spinners in Jaipur alongside Axar. But it wouldn’t be a surprise if they opt for someone like Rahul Tewatia as well. However, the balance of the side is equally important and they might not change the existing combination. Kagiso Rabada is a must in the eleven and has been brilliant at the death.

Ishant Sharma, meanwhile, has been handling the burden on bowling in the powerplay. The Indian Test specialist has been doing decently and will continue in the side. Amit Mishra and Sandeep Lamichhane will be the two spinners. Mishra was expensive in the last match but he is an experienced campaigner and will look for a strong comeback.
