At one point in time after their first five matches, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were in contention of comfortably progressing to the playoffs in this edition’s Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise, captained by Dinesh Karthik, managed to win four encounters and was even at the top of the points table before being replaced by Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Thereafter, the Men in Gold and Purple entered into a slump and have now lost five matches in succession. Currently, they are placed in the sixth position with eight points from 10 matches and need to win all their remaining four games in order to go to the subsequent rounds, without having to depend on the complications of the cursed Net Run Rate (NRR): -0.013.

In the last match, they made some changes in their bowling department, but that didn’t work out as the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) inflicted them with a hefty defeat by nine wickets. David Warner and Jonny Bairstow notched half-centuries to rip the heart out of the Knight Riders’ bowling attack. KKR are next scheduled to play the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Eden Gardens.

Last time around, KKR beat the Royals in Jaipur and Dinesh Karthik and Co will be hoping for a similar performance even this time around. The Royals, on the contrary, are the current cellar dwellers after the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) toppled them at the table with a victory over the Ravichandran Ashwin-captained Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

According to Accuweather, the temperature will start at 35 degree Celsius at 8 pm during match time. It will gradually come down to around 33 degree Celsius by the time the game comes to a close. However, the humidity level is expected to increase. Also, there will be a significant amount of dew with the numbers around 26. There is no chance of rain tomorrow as of now.
