Hardik normally brings out his best game against CSK.

The blockbuster clash between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) ended up being a damp squib earlier this season. The two teams are facing off once again on Friday and the fans are hoping for a mouth-watering contest. CSK and MI played against each other last in 2015 and the visitors won that game. Mumbai also won at the Wankhede stadium this year and CSK will be looking to avenge the defeat now.
However, it won’t be easy for them by any stretch of imagination. MI have defeated CSK on 15 occasions in the IPL which is the most by any team. Moreover, Hardik Pandya brings out his best while playing against the Men in Yellow and he will continue to be a threat for them in this encounter as well. If CSK are to keep a check on the run-flow, then they will have to choke Hardik at any cost.
Record against the opposition (CSK) in the IPL:
Many feel Hardik Pandya should improve as a bowler. But when he takes the field against CSK, the all-rounder gives his everything it seems. He has picked seven wickets against them which also include a couple of three-wicket hauls.
With bat – 82 runs at an average of 41 and S/R of 170.83
With ball – 7 wickets at an average of 17.57 with two 3-wicket hauls
Since 2018: 22* & 3/24, 13* & 1/39, 25* & 3/20
Record at the venue (Chepauk):
Hardik hasn’t played much at the MA Chidambaram stadium. But he has made a couple of outings memorable one of which includes an unbeaten 21 off just eight deliveries. That is when MI defeated CSK at the Chepauk. Also, in an ODI against Australia, he had smashed 83 off just 66 deliveries and then struck a couple of times in his four overs.
Hardik Pandya didn’t play much cricket coming into the IPL and needed some game time in the middle ahead of the World Cup. He has well and truly proved his mettle so far and is one of the better performers for the team. MI team management will be hoping for him to continue in the same vein without getting injured.
In this IPL:
With bat – 10 inns, 241 runs, 40.16 average, 189.76 S/R
With ball – 8 wickets in 10 matches at a strike-rate of 22.12.
Costs 9.5 credits in the all-rounders’ category and is picked by 94% of teams. He is a must-pick in your fantasy team and should be an ideal candidate for vice-captain. Making a captain would be a risk as he gets very fewer balls more often and might not bowl his quota of overs if he has a bad day at the office.
