The 44th match of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) will see two of the most successful teams in the history of the league – Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) – locking horns against each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.  Over the years, these two teams have developed arguably the fiercest rivalry in the league. A lot will be at stake when they take on each other again in a crunch clash on Friday.

Both the teams have already met once this season with Mumbai Indians thoroughly dominating that contest.  After scoring 170, Mumbai had made light work of CSK’s batting lineup, restricting the defending champions to just 188 for 8. No surprises then that revenge will be on CSK’s mind when they host their bitter rivals. With 8 wins from 11 games, the Super Kings have all but sealed their playoff spot. A win against Mumbai will make them the first team to qualify for the playoffs.

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, have won 6 of ten matches. A defeat against CSK can pretty much make things tricky for them as they might land in a win-all situation in order to progress. Mumbai will have to be at their absolute best to win a game in Chennai – a venue where no visiting team has won a game this season so far. CSK have won all of their five games so far and will enter the contest against Mumbai as the firm favourites. Over the years, Mumbai is one of the few teams which has always posed problems for CSK and the upcoming contest can turn out to be one of the best of the season.

How will be the weather

As far as the weather is concerned, there is nothing to worry much. According to AccuWeather, rain is unlikely to play spoilsport as there are no predictions of any downpour. However, there will be considerable cloud coverage throughout the match which can make a big difference in deciding the outcome. The cloud cover will be around 50% at the start of the game and will hover between 46-55% during the game.

The temperature, on the other hand, will be around 32-degree Celsius throughout the game. The humidity will also be on the higher side. It will be around 53% at the beginning of the game and will slowly increase to 70s.
