Race for the playoffs is heating up with the likes of Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) picking themselves up from the ruins and now, the tournament mathematically is wide open for all the teams. The Sunrisers Hyderabad, who started the tournament as one of the hot favourites, currently find themselves in a slightly precarious situation.
Despite the heroics of David Warner this season, they have struggled to make merry of some good situations. With Jonny Bairstow leaving, Warner will be having a new opening partner and it’ll be interesting to see how he will cope with the change. One of Sunrisers pillars this season, Warner is the man people would place their lives on to deliver.
This season, he scored seven fifties and a hundred in the 10 games he played. He currently holds the record for the most number of fifties in a single season (He scored nine in SRH’s title-winning season back in 2016) and is looking good to better his own record. However, the southpaw doesn’t have enough time left and might only get a chance to play two more games.
With Bairstow leaving, the onus falls on Warner to be the aggressor in the innings. He has the likes of Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar, who are capable of hitting the big hits but are best at building innings. Pandey regained some confidence with a brilliant knock against the Chennai Super Kings and the Aussie will be hoping for good assistance from the Karnataka captain.
Record against the opposition (Rajasthan Royals) in the IPL:
9 innings, 300 runs, 33.33 average, 3 fifties
Record at the venue (Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur):

In IPL 2019 – 574 runs in 10 innings at an average of 71.75 with 1 century and 7 fifties
Dream11 Scenario:
Costs 11.5 credits in the batsmen category and is picked by 93% of teams.
