Updated - May 5, 2019 6:03 pm
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) managed to arrest their slump with back-to-back victories. Last time around, Dinesh Karthik and Co defeated Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by seven wickets at the PCA Stadium and would be high on confidence. Shubman Gill’s unbeaten half-century ensured that the Knight Riders went over the line in their must-win encounter to keep their hopes alive of qualifying for the playoffs.
KKR are next scheduled to play the second game of tomorrow’s doubleheader against Mumbai Indians (MI) whom they defeated in Kolkata. Even at the Eden Gardens, Gill played a crucial role. As far as Mumbai are concerned, the franchise has not only qualified for the next round but is also in contention for being the table toppers. In their last game, MI got over the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Super Over.
The 56th game of the IPL between MI and KKR will be hosted by the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The match starts at 08:00 PM local time (14:30 GMT).
The game will be live on Star Sports in India. (Live streaming on Hotstar).
The temperature during the contest will be around the 28 and 29 degrees Celsius. The humidity will be in the 80s and players need to keep themselves hydrated. Dew will play a massive role in deciding the winner of the contest.

The track at the Wankhede is an excellent one for batting. The deck doesn’t change much and it goes without saying that the bowlers won’t have much room for error.

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
Captain Options: Hardik Pandya, Andre Russell
Vice-Captain Options: Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Andre Russell
Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Head to Head/ Small Leagues:
WicketKeeper – Quinton de Kock
Batsmen – Rohit Sharma, Evin Lewis, Robin Uthappa, Chris Lynn, Shubman Gill
All-Rounders – Hardik Pandya (VC), Andre Russell (C)
Bowlers – Lasith Malinga, Rahul Chahar, Sandeep Warrier
Suggested Playing XI No.2 for Grand/ Mega Leagues:

For the last few matches, Sunil Narine isn’t opening the batting. Moreover, his bowling form hasn’t been that great. Hence, not making him one of the multipliers seems to a wise move. One can rather make Hardik Pandya or Andre Russell the captain or vice-captain.
Mumbai are expected to come out trumps.
