After losing their season opener to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) courtesy Andre Russell, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be hoping to make a comeback. Moreover, they are playing in front of their home crowd where the team thrives more often than not. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be their opponents in this game who are coming off a huge controversy after which their chase was decisively derailed.

For SRH though if they are to get back to the winning ways soon, one man has to perform to the potential and he is none other than their former captain David Warner. He announced himself in his comeback itself and smashed with an 85-run knock off just 53 balls and it literally didn’t seem that the Australian was away from top-level cricket for last 12 months.

Record against the opposition (RR):

In the eight innings against the Royals, the southpaw has scored 231 runs at an average of 28.87. Warner has also slammed a couple of fifty-plus scores against the team in Pink. He will be gunning to do well even this year while facing the Royals’ bowlers.

Record at the venue (RGI Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad):

Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium has been one of the favourite grounds for David Warner. In the shortest format at the venue, he has amassed 1291 runs in 27 outings at an average close to 62 and his strike-rate shots up to 162.79. He has also scored a century to go with 11 fifties in Hyderabad, the stat which is enough for the opposition to rattle. His scores in the last six T20 innings at the venue read 6, 40, 126, 4, 70, 76*.

Recent form:

David Warner also boasts of a scintillating form when it comes to the recent form and the bowlers are expected to be at the receiving end. He played in the couple of T20 leagues over the last 12 months and belted the ball brutally in most of the matches.

Last 10 innings across all formats – 85, 19, 63, 61*, 0, 7, 59, 14, 42*, 42

Last 5 innings in Twenty20s – 85, 19, 63, 61*, 0

Dream11 Scenario:

Warner costs 10 credits in Dream11 and it goes without saying that he will be picked in most of the fantasy teams. At the moment, the left-hander is in 94% of teams and is also a decent option to be captain of the team.
