IPL 2019: Mitchell Johnson rips a supporter apart for trolling him

Mitchell Johnson is regarded as one of the best bowlers Australia have ever produced. He made his debut in 2005 against New Zealand and his international career spanned for a whopping 10 years. He last donned the national colours in a Test match against the Black Caps in 2015 at the WACA in Perth. Thereafter, he has plied his trade in T20 events around the globe.

He also had the privilege of playing 54 matches in the prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2013 onwards. He has 61 wickets in the T20 tournament at an economy of 8.29. Last season, the speedster was listed in the auction at a base price of INR 2 crore and was eventually drafted in by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the two-time champions of the mega event.

A lacklustre stint for the Knights

But he couldn’t live up to expectations and managed to pick up only a couple of wickets, leaking runs at an economy of 10.28. He looked a pale shadow of his glorious past and was taken apart by the opposition batsmen. Yesterday, the Knights made an announcement of the released and retained players for the upcoming edition and Johnson has been freed of his services.

In the meantime, a supporter took to Twitter and asked him whether he is still looking for an IPL contract at the age of 37. The fan took Twitter and wrote, “You don’t have a choice Mitch! Still begging for an IPL spot eh?”

Johnson is someone who likes to match fire with fire and he didn’t get bogged down by the fan’s comment. He destroyed the fan and replied that the latter’s comment doesn’t matter to him.

He replied and wrote, “I retired from cricket earlier this year so your msg makes no sense,”
