The 7th round of the Indian Premier League (IPL) official championship fantasy league will be the last set of matches from the group stage. The absence of Australians and England will be a key here on. The likes of David Warner, Jofra Archer and Jonny Bairstow have left their respective franchises. With as many as six teams fighting for two playoff spots, the big names are expected to put on their best effort for their teams.

Here is our fantasy guide for the 7th round of the IPL Fantasy League season mode:

(Can be played on Dream11 and Official IPL Fantasy)

Round 7 schedule – All the eight teams will be playing two matches apiece.

Wicket-Keepers:

Suggestions – KL Rahul, Parthiv Patel

Alternatives – Rishabh Pant, MS Dhoni, Quinton de Kock

Economical Picks – Wriddhiman Saha

KL Rahul remains the most important pick in this category having scored over 500 runs in the season already. The possibility of Rishabh Pant and Quinton de Kock succeeding with the bat in this round is doubtful the way fixtures are set up. Pant will be playing in Delhi where he has been below average with the bat and another game at Chepauk which is no different from the Feroz Shah Kotla.

De Kock will be up against a spin dominant KKR and an SRH line-up that can cause troubles to him. MS Dhoni is having fitness issues which might put him away from playing two games in this round. Parthiv Patel will be a good pick considering his consistency with scoring 30s and 40s. Wriddhiman Saha can be an economical pick as SRH play their last two matches at Wankhede and Chinnaswamy.

Batsmen:

Suggestions – Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, AB de Villiers

Alternatives – Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Sanju Samson

Economical Picks – Liam Livingstone, Mayank Agarwal, Shubman Gill

Shikhar Dhawan’s approach has been successful for him which could see him excel on tough tracks in this round. Ajinkya Rahane has caught up the consistency of late while AB de Villiers has been exceptional at the Chinnaswamy over the last two years making them crucial in this round.

Liam Livingstone and Shubman Gill opening the innings are good for fantasy teams as the duo could cut the costs down. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma playing their last two games at home is a positive sign but they have enough threats in the opposition bowling line-up.

All-Rounders:

Suggestions – Hardik Pandya, Andre Russell

Alternatives – Krunal Pandya, Marcus Stoinis, Sunil Narine

Economical Picks – Riyan Parag

There is no way one can overlook Andre Russell and Hardik Pandya as the duo score runs and pick wickets. There is no other name that could make even half the impact as these two. Young Riyan Parag costs seven credits and can be picked for spending more credits in other categories.

Bowlers:

Suggestions – Khaleel Ahmed, Kagiso Rabada, Rashid Khan, Rahul Chahar, Shreyas Gopal

Alternatives – Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin, Imran Tahir, Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Economical Picks – Sandeep Sharma, Harbhajan Singh

The uncapped leg-spinners Rahul Chahar and Shreyas Gopal have been quite good and are expected to finish the league stage on a high. Khaleel Ahmed might not be effective as he was at SRH’s home ground in Hyderabad. The RGIC Stadium with big boundaries suits the left-arm pacer given the high bounce produced by the venue. Kagiso Rabada is on his way to a record-breaking season and is a must in the team.

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

The likes of Andre Russell and Hardik Pandya will be ideal as multipliers due to their dual roles. KL Rahul and Shikhar David’s consistent yields make them a considerable choice as captain or vice-captain along with AB de Villiers. Kagiso Rabada can be a worthy picking as vice-captain.

Free hit option on official fantasy:

Tuesday’s game between RCB and RR in Bangalore and the last league stage match in Mumbai between MI and KKR will be perfect for the Free Hits. Both the matches are expected to be high scoring due to the tracks. (The Free Hit booster multiplies the fantasy points in a game by two times. This is currently available only on official fantasy site.)
