2. Chennai Super Kings – Underperforming batting line-up
CSK ended up second in the points table with 9 wins under their belt. They were clinical throughout the league stage. However, the absence of their skipper MS Dhoni threw light on their struggling batting order. MS Dhoni has scored 18.96% of his team’s runs so far, but the other players have failed to support him.
The batting line-up consisting of Ambati Rayadu, Shane Watson and Suresh Raina has failed to deliver with consistency. Apart from his 96 against SRH, Watson couldn’t do much. Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayadu too remained hot-and-cold throughout.
If CSK wants to win their fourth IPL title, it is important that these players step up. A slow start won’t matter much, as CSK has the ability to neutralize it towards the end. But these players throwing their wickets will put the team under tremendous pressure.
