Rajasthan Royals (RR) would have barely recovered from their nail-biting victory against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and they are already up against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) who got back on track in their second game after a disappointing loss in their season opener. KKR seem to have their team in place now. However, despite having most bases covered, they will be concerned with the form of few of their star players.
They are also up against a team which has scored 200 runs in 2 consecutive games, albeit on a smaller ground. Nevertheless, they will have to bowl well to restrict an explosive batting line-up. Rajasthan, on the other hand, will be pleased with how their campaign has taken shape until now. But even though they have won two games, they surely need to work on their middle order.
Floaters may have worked for them on smaller grounds but they will need to have a different strategy going forward. Add to that, their bowling may need some extra ammunition as well.
Here are 3 players you can exclude from your Dream11 for RR vs KKR game:
1. Sunil Narine (10 credits)
A very important member of KKR, Sunil Narine is yet to fire in the tournament. In two games, he has scored just 9 runs and has been dismissed by the pacers. The experiment of having Narine at the top as a pinch hitter seems to have fizzled out and KKR might want to change their strategy in that regard. Narine hasn’t had much success as a bowler either, picking up just one wicket so far. He seems to have lost the mystery about him which used to make him so lethal. With Narine also requiring a high number of credits, you can avoid going for him in this match.
2. Kuldeep Yadav (8.5 credits)
A player who has had a prolonged dry run in T20s has been Kuldeep Yadav. After starting with a bang, it seems as though everyone has figured out how to play him. In the two games he has played, he hasn’t picked up a single wicket. Even in the last season he was able to pick up just 4 wickets in 9 games. Even the captain seems to have lost belief in him, and it was evident in the fact that he got only 2 overs to bowl in the last game. With KKR’s line up having a plethora of bowling options, Kuldeep might find himself sidelined once again.
3. Rahul Tewatia (8.5 credits)
Rahul Tewatia played an innings of a lifetime in the last game against KXIP as he went from being 17 of 23 balls to scoring 36 in the next 8 balls, which included 5 sixes in an over of Sheldon Cottrell. His innings in the last game might prompt a lot of people to pick him in this game. But it is important to note that the last game was played on a much shorter ground and it was one of the freakish innings that makes cricket so unpredictable.
But on a larger ground, RR is sure to adopt a different strategy and Tewatia might not come up to bat. His legspin isn’t too convincing either and it would be better not to be swayed by emotions. He can be left out of your Dream11 Fantasy team.
