In what can be a major setback for Sunrisers Hyderabad is the possible exit of its key all-rounder Mitchell Marsh. The Australian cricketer suffered a heart-breaking injury in his first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the iconic Dubai International Stadium.

The 28-year-old came in to bowl in the fifth over of the RCB innings, but on the second ball of the over, he appeared to have twisted his ankle in the most unwanted manner. Albeit he bowled two more balls with excruciating pain conspicuous on his face, he eventually decided to leave the field lately.

Reports are suggestive of the fact that the injury may cost him the 13th edition of the IPL. On that note, let us speculate the names of the players who can act as the best replacement for the cricketing stalwart. It remains to be seen who will don the hat of luck.

Here are the replacement options for Mitchell Marsh: –

1. Daniel Christian

The Australian supernova appears to be doing the rounds in the Sunrisers’ dressing room as an apt replacement for his prolific power-hitting potential. Carrying truckloads of experience, the medium pacer can also do wonders when dropped a ball on his strong hands.

The cricketing casanova has brilliant statistics, favouring his right over the replacement. Appearing for 40 matches in the cash-rich IPL, Dan Christian has amassed 446 odd runs with a stunning strike-rate of 119.25. Moreover, he has grabbed 34 wickets with an ideal economy of 7.94.

Going unsold in the past two editions of the cash-rich IPL, he seems to pin his hopes to get an opportunity to make a stellar comeback in the world’s most renowned cricketing contest.
