Their best options: KL Rahul, Chris Gayle and Glenn Maxwell.

The selectors of the Punjab-based franchise have done a good job in the last few auctions by adding some hard-hitting batsmen to their squad. Despite having a reasonable squad, KXIP were unable to qualify for the playoffs in any of the last five seasons. Under KL Rahul’s captaincy, the team is looking strong and balanced and they are expecting to win their first IPL trophy.

It will be a tough decision for the team management to select the two batsmen to play in the Super Over as their squad is filled with many power-hitters. Looking at his recent form in international cricket, Rahul is expected to bat for the team in the one-over eliminator. Rahul is an excellent timer of the cricket ball and will be a tough batsman to bowl to in the Super Over.

Chris Gayle is the boss in the shortest format of the game. He has the highest individual score 175* in the history of IPL under his belt and is the most successful batsman in T20 cricket. The Carribean power, with Rahul at the other end, can destroy any kind of bowling lineups in the Super Over.

Glenn Maxwell was the most successful player when the cash rich league was played in the UAE in 2014. He scored a whopping 300 runs with a strike rate 201.34 in the five matches KXIP played in UAE in 2014. If the situation demands, the Victorian can be sent to bat for the team in the Super Over.
