Although many say that the T20 format is a batsman’s game, bowlers too play an important role in the overall success of teams. Even in the Indian Premier League (IPL), we have frequently observed that a team with a good bowling attack got success in the long run.

Even to win a Super Over, one must have a terrific bowler, who can bowl the crucial over by holding his nerve, and making sure that they win the match. Even after batsmen scoring some decent runs in the one-over eliminator, it’s the bowler’s performance in the ultimate over under pressure that decides the result of a game.

In the 12 years history of the tournament, a total of eight Super Overs have taken place and teams, having good bowling options, went on to win the matches after the Super Overs.

With IPL all set to kick off on Sept 19th, here’s is an article on 3 teams that have strong bowlers to bowl in the super over in IPL 2020.

1. Sunrisers Hyderabad

Their best options: Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan.

The bowling attack of the Hyderabad based franchise is arguably the best in the tournament. It is filled with the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, and many more lethal bowlers which has made them one of the best bowling lineups ever to feature in IPL.

There are concerns over the fitness of Bhuvneshwar as he is coming back to cricket after an injury-layoff. But the pacer is expected to play a crucial role in the team’s campaign this year. With his ability to swing the ball both ways and knuckle-ball being his powerful weapon, the two-time Purple Cap-winner is expected to bowl the crucial over for the team whenever required.

The 2016 champions have another option in the form of Rashid Khan in their squad. Considering his IPL career economy of 6.55 and the spin friendly pitches in the UAE, SRH may hand over the ball to him over Kumar to bowl the Super Over.
