<p>14 months. That was the amount of time the entire cricketing world had waited to see the legendary MS Dhoni in action. The iconic cricketer had not featured in a single match after the 2019 World Cup, and the fans were eager to see their ‘Thala’ in action during the 13th edition of the IPL.</p>
<p>But, all the expectations of the fans went up in smoke, as Dhoni failed with the bat this season. The former Indian skipper endured his worst IPL season ever, and could aggregate just 200 runs during the course of the entire tournament. This was also the first time the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/to-our-beloved-watto-man-csk-pay-a-heartfelt-tribute-to-the-retiring-shane-watson/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>CSK</strong></a> skipper could not score a single fifty in an IPL edition. He averaged just 25.00 and was nowhere close to his best.</p>
<p>As a captain too, Dhoni could not inspire his side this season, and the three-time IPL champions finished seventh in the points table. However, in what should come as a huge sigh of relief for his fans, Dhoni is ‘Definitely Not’ retiring, and will don the yellow jersey once again in 2021.</p>
