IPL 2020: 7 Lesser known facts about the new IPL anchor, Tanya Purohit

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 has already flagged off its journey in style, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is leaving no stone unturned to maintain the glamour content. However, many fans were surprised to know that one of the most familiar and favourite faces of IPL, Mayanti Langer, wasn’t going to host the pre and post-match shows.

She has been hosting most high profile events with Star Sports for years, and many started speculating that she has been replaced. Clearing the air, Mayanti took to her social media handle and broke the news of being blessed with a child. She also stated, had IPL been there on its scheduled time, she would have been the part of the event.

In the same light, the list of new presenters has been announced and includes, Kira Narayanan, Suhail Chandok, Nashpreet Kaur, Sanjana Ganesan, Jatin Sapru, Tanya Purohit, Dheeraj Juneja, Suren Sundaram, and Neroli Meadows.

Tanya Purohit’s birth took place in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand. Her family hails from Kwili village near Rudraprayag. She was born on 9 November 1991.

Her father, Dr. DR Purohit is a retired English Literature professor at HNB Garhwal University, and the mother’s name is Bina Purohit, who is a housewife. Tanya has two siblings, a brother, and a sister.

3. Married Life

Tanya Purohit is married to Mr. Deepak Dobhal, who is also into the anchoring sector. He is a news anchor with Zee Business.

4. Education

Tanya loved acting since she was a child and associated herself with theatre when she was just four. Later she completed her M.A. in Mass Communication from Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Uttarakhand.

5. Acting Career

She rose to fame after the character of ‘Manju’ in Anushka Sharma starer NH10. Her next movie was Terror Strike Beyond. She marked her Television career with Doordarshan’s ‘Ek Tha Rusty season 3.” She then appeared on a show named ‘Ultapur’ on DD Kisan. She also works with the National School of Drama, where she helps students to prepare for theatre shows.

Tanya loves acting, dancing, and travelling, and it is evident through her Instagram photos that she has ample amount of love for dogs.
