IPL 2020: Aakash Chopra ranks IPL teams on basis of best finishers in squad

Former Indian opener and expert commentator Aakash Chopra has established himself as a great expert, putting forth his opinions in the social media realm. In the latest video he shared on his Facebook page, he can be seen carrying out an interesting exercise. With the Indian Premier League setting in action within 15 days, the commentator has ranked the IPL teams based on the best finishers. In this analysis, he has chosen Mumbai Indians as the team with the best finishers. 

“At the top spot, I will keep the Mumbai Indians. They have Kieron Pollard, who is the lord of T20 cricket, what sort of batting he is doing in CPL! He scored 72 runs in 28 balls and is scoring consistently. He plays spin well and will do well in the UAE, there is no doubt about that.”

The commentator stated that the presence of Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav adds to their benefit. Moving ahead, he placed Kolkata Knight Riders at no.2 spot because of having stunners like Andre Russell and skipper Dinesh Karthik.

“At No.2, I have got KKR. They have Andre Russell, who gives them the muscle. Although he is good enough alone, they also have Eoin Morgan, who is in great form and Dinesh Karthik.”

Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings next in line

Moving further, the third slot in his analysis was occupied by the Delhi Capitals wherein Shimron Hetmyer, and Rishabh Pant can turn fatal for the opponents. Hetmyer especially possesses key finishing skills.

“After that, I have Delhi Capitals. They have a lot of options but more in the overseas contingent. They have Rishabh Pant, who is likely to bat at No.4. Along with him, another left-hander Shimron Hetmyer is expected to bat, who is doing well in the CPL.”

Finally, the 4th place in his rankings was clinched by MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings. Along with Dhoni, the likes of Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Dwayne Bravo can be of great help as finishers.

“Last but not the least, I am going with Chennai Super Kings because they have MS Dhoni. He is like a one-man army, although he does not have great finishers along with him.”
