Suresh Raina’s sudden exit from the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season was a shocker for the cricket fraternity. He hastily returned to India only to spark a controversy as various theories came out about all not being well between him and the franchise. However, Raina himself clarified the things later and also hinted at returning to the UAE at some point during the tournament.

He even stated that he was worried about his young family while in the UAE and hence returned back home. At the same time, as many as 13 members of the CSK camp were tested positive and there were also doubts over even the IPL going ahead at that point in time.

However, the recent developments have confirmed that Suresh Raina will not be making a comeback to the CSK at least for this season. His name has been removed from the franchise’s official website from the team section. Even Harbhajan Singh’s name is not there, however, he was clear about missing the league.

CSK CEO’s comments

Earlier, even the CSK CEO, Kasi Viswanathan, had said that the team team respects Suresh Raina’s personal space and had sort of confirmed that the side has moved on. Moreover, after losing two matches on the trot, the fans are missing their ‘Chinna Thala’. But Kasi has assured the fans that the team will bounce back strongly.

“We cannot look at (Suresh) Raina because he made himself unavailable, and we respect his decision and his space. We are not thinking about it. I can assure the fans that we will bounce back strongly. It’s a game and you have your good and bad days. But the boys know what they need to do and the smiles will be back,” he had earlier said.

Meanwhile, CSK is currently enjoying a six-day break and will take the field now against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), another struggling team, on October 2.
