The 22nd match of the Indian Premier League is going to set action between Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 8 in Dubai. KL Rahul-led side is struggling a lot to make a mark in this season of IPL despite playing competitive cricket.

After winning a single match in their five outings so far, Punjab are sitting at the bottom of the points table. In fact, in their last match against CSK, the opposition handed them a defeat by massive ten wickets.

A lot of Punjab’s game is dependent on their solid openers in the form of Mayank Agarwal and skipper KL Rahul. And in case they fail to perform, the entire order gets disturbed, which happened in the last match too. Now the franchise really needs to settle their combinations well so that they can see a face of victory after long. In the same light,

Here is the Predicted Playing XI of Kings XI Punjab for KXIP vs SRH:

Openers (Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal)

One of the most dangerous batters of IPL is yet to grace the squad of Kings XI Punjab in this season of IPL. He didn’t show up in the initial matches and was stated to form part of the team when the right situation arrives. However, it feels that the urgency has come, and he needs to pitch in to turn things respectable for Punjab in the match against SRH.

Mayank Agarwal has been plying his trade too well for the team. His brilliant knocks over the period of time have fetched great runs for the team. In fact, he is among top contenders in the race to Orange Cap. He is too likely to remain with the team for their next contest in Dubai.

Middle-Order (KL Rahul, Mandeep Singh, Nicholas Pooran, and Sarfaraz Khan)

The young skipper is leaving no stone unturned in trying to mould things in Punjab’s favour, but results are not coming out likewise. He is the current holder of Orange Cap, and that suffices enough about his journey so far in IPL 2020. He is sure to lead his team from the front in the match against Hyderabad.

Mandeep Singh pitched in for KXIP in their last match and played an impressive cameo of 27 off 16. He replaced Karun Nair, who looked quite rusty in this season. He has scored 165 runs in IPL 2019 season during his 12 innings and is expected to provide some strength to KXIP’s middle order in the next match.

Short and crisp innings by Nicholas Pooran have been of great help for Punjab during their last matches in IPL 2020. He is equally great on the field, in fact, he kept the wickets for his team in the last match. Being the multipurpose man for the Punjab franchise, he won’t be left on the benches in their next contest.

Sarfaraz Khan hasn’t grabbed anything significant in IPL 2020 so far. However, he is being expected to shoulder some roles in the middle order and lend support to his team. Owing to the previous form, he might be made part of playing XI of Punjab for their next face off against Hyderabad.

Bowlers (Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman, Sheldon Cottrell, Murugan Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, and Mohammed Shami)

The star Afghan spinner Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman is yet to show up in the playing XI of Punjab in IPL 2020. He is expected to replace Chris Jordan, who proved to be a costly affair for Punjab in the last match. He is expected to show up on the field alongside Punjab in the next match.

Cottrell has been doing a fine job for the team so far apart from a horrible incident he had against RR’s Rahul Tewatia. Though he didn’t do anything great in the last match, that was the case with all the bowlers of Punjab as CSK handed them a massive defeat by 10- wickets. He is likely to perform with the ball in the match against SRH.

Murugan Ashwin has been part of the Punjab squad on and off. However, he has done a decent job in the matches he has been part of. He has scalped four wickets in two matches he played in IPL 2020. He might fill in the shoes of Harpreet Brar in the next match, who again didn’t do anything great in the last match he was part of.

Mohammed Shami has been faring well for the Punjab team. In fact, he has emerged out as most consistent for his squad. He even got his IPL best figures in this season in a match against Delhi. He is sure to lead the pace attack of KL Rahul and the company for the next clash.

The young spinner Ravi Bishnoi has marked his debut in this season of IPL but looks too confident with the ball. Even he has done a decent job for his team by picking four wickets in the five IPL matches. He has maintained an economy of around 8.00 and will most probably find himself spinning along with Rahman in the next outing.
