Chennai Super Kings produced one of the finest all-round efforts against Sunrisers Hyderabad to keep their IPL 2020 campaign alive. The Chennai franchise revamped their plans having lost as many as five of their first seven matches. The game against Sunrisers was the first while batting first for the Super Kings and also first in ten IPL matches across the two seasons. CSK made Sam Curran open the batting to make most of the all-rounder’s six-hitting form in the powerplay overs.

It was also an idea to delay the battle between Shahbaz Nadeem and Shane Watson, the only possible threat for the Aussie all-rounder in SRH vs CSK. Curran smashed 31 from only 21 balls with three fours and two sixes. The knock earned an impact of 9.92 which was the 3rd best in the whole match. The southpaw opened with the ball as well and picked up the wicket of dangerous David Warner in the powerplay itself. His spell with the new ball read 3-0-18-1 which earned an impact rating of 6.07.

Sam Curran earned an impact of 15.99 during the SRH vs CSK which was the highest for any player in the game as per CricTracker’s Match Impact Ratings. The player of the match Ravindra Jadeja came a close second with an impact of 15.82. Jadeja struck 25 runs in only 10 balls with help of four boundaries earning him an impact of 12.65. Later, the left-arm spinner bowled three overs for 21 runs and also picked the wicket on Jonny Bairstow extending him impact in the match to 15.82.

Talking about the Sunrisers Hyderabad players, their openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow ended up earning a negative impact of six and more. Their struggle was the reason behind SRH’s slow start which is why Kane Williamson’s efforts were never enough. On a tricky pitch, Williamson struck 57 from only 39 balls with seven boundaries thus earning an impact of 13.16 which is the highest for any batsman. Rashid Khan also earned an impact of 10.06 for his efforts with both bat and ball (7.78 and 2.28).
