Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) must have been shattered after their eight-wicket loss against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). However, Eoin Morgan and Co managed a stupendous comeback, beating the Delhi Capitals (DC) by 59 runs on Saturday, October 24, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The Men in Gold and Purple have strengthened their chances of making the playoffs. After being put in to bat first, the Knights strained, scoring only 44 runs in the first eight overs and losing three wickets. But a flurry of boundaries got them up to 194 in 20 overs.
During the run-chase, early strikes pushed the Capitals on the backfoot right from the outset. Shreyas Iyer scored 47 runs, but he didn’t get much support from the others. DC stayed at the second spot in the points table.
Here are the KKR Player Ratings for the KKR vs DC match:
Shubman Gill- 2/10
Shubman Gill smashed two classy fours to start his knock, but he couldn’t cross the single-digit score. The right-hander managed nine off eight balls before pacer Anrich Nortje got rid of him.
Nitish Rana- 9.5/10
Nitish Rana arrested his slump after being promoted to open the batting. He batted until the last over and smacked 81 runs off only 53 balls. His knock was laced with 13 scoring fours and one six.
Rahul Tripathi- 3/10
Rahul Tripathi got his eyes in, scoring 13 runs with a four. But he failed to carry on and make it big. Nortje rattled his woodwork to cut short his stay in the middle. He would look to get his form back.
Dinesh Karthik- 1/10
Dinesh Karthik has played a couple of decent knocks. But he has been highly inconsistent. Even this time around, he wasn’t at his best. Kagiso Rabada accounted for his wicket in the eighth over.
Sunil Narine- 8.5/10
Sunil Narine was excellent with the bat in hand. He smashed 64 runs off 32 balls with the help of six fours and four sixes. But with the ball, he wasn’t at his best. He gave 37 runs and didn’t get a wicket.
Eoin Morgan- 6/10

Lockie Ferguson- 7.5/10
Lockie Ferguson wasn’t on top his game, but he wasn’t at his worst either. In four overs, he gave away 30 runs with eight dots. The New Zealand fast bowler also got the wicket of Tushar Deshpande.
Kamlesh Nagarkoti- 7/10
Kamlesh Nagarkoti didn’t disappoint despite not completing his quota of four overs. In the two overs he bowled, the speedster gave away 11 runs with seven dots. Nagarkoti conceded a couple of fours.
Prasidh Krishna- 5/10
Prasidh Krishna didn’t have much to do with the ball. The right-arm fast bowler was entrusted for only a couple of overs where he gave away 19 runs at an economy of 9.50 with four dot balls.
Varun Chakravarthy- 9.5/10
Varun Chakravarthy was arguably the standout bowler for the Knights in the tournament. The off-spinner managed to get a five-wicket haul and conceded a mere 20 runs. He was unstoppable.
