The star-studded battalion of Chennai Super Kings is all set to put up an impressive show against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians in the season opener of the IPL. The extravaganza will set action at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 19. In the same light, the heroes of the Yellow Army became part of an intra-squad practice session on Tuesday. Seeing their finesse, it felt that players of the squad have found their rhythm again.

The members of Chennai had to set foot late on the field as their contingent members tested positive, and they were sceptic about their fitness and form. Skipper MS Dhoni, Shane Watson, and Ambati Rayudu were seen flaunting their class and smashed bowlers in all the directions. The franchise shared the video of the same practice session where stars like Faf du Plessis, Murali Vijay, and Ravindra Jadeja were seen setting the field on fire with their willows first.

The players who were seen acing perfect deliveries were Shardul Thakur, Piyush Chawla, and KM Asif. In the second half of the innings, Watson, Rayudu, and MSD put their batting prowess to display.

The Super Kings were all planned to kick start their outdoor session in the last week of August but had to delay it due to the spread of COVID-19 in their camp. Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad were among the players who contracted the virus and were separated immediately. While Chahar has shown signs of recovery and tested negative, Gaikwad continues to be in the quarantine bubble after testing positive again.

Pacer Chahar is even back in the squad and was spotted gearing up with the team recently. The Chennai Super Kings will be spirited and would walk with fire in their hearts to avenge the last year’s nail-biting loss in the finale. During the 2019 season finale, the Rohit Sharma-led side registered a victory over Dhoni and company by one run and lifted their fourth IPL trophy.

However, coping up with the loss of many members in their side, CSK will be walking all motivated and encouraged to set up one blockbuster on an opening day.
