We have already seen some exciting cricketing action from all teams in the first two weeks of this long tournament. The Indian Premier League (IPL) has successfully stepped into the third week of action. Teams look settled and well-acclimatised.

Thundering performances and nail-biting finishes which is a highlight of this league have already begun. With just two weeks into the tournament, the competition between the teams seems intense already.

IPL 2020 started off quite surprisingly. Teams with the usual high expectations have found themselves in a spot of bother after losing games early on. The first two weeks have been nothing short of a roller-coaster ride for a few teams.

Understandably, teams look to try out different combinations to see which suits them better before the business end of the tournament. Few teams have already shown their potential to adapt to different situations and found success.

Here are the ratings for the IPL teams in the first two weeks:

Chennai Super Kings have been one of the best IPL franchises over the years. The team is led by the legend MS Dhoni since the beginning of the league. CSK have won three IPL trophies. Finishing as the runners-up in the IPL 2019, CSK missed out by the slightest of the margins. Also known for the aged cricketers in the side, CSK have managed to get the best out of each of them.

CSK have not had the ideal start in this year&#8217;s IPL. They started off with a victory against Mumbai Indians in the opener. However, it has gone downhill for them since then. Losing three consecutive matches is very unlike CSK. This year the squad had to make some necessary changes due to the unavailability of<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/happiest-that-my-record-is-broken-by-you-suresh-raina-congratulates-ms-dhoni-for-becoming-the-most-capped-ipl-player/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> Suresh Raina</a> and Harbhajan Singh. Their absence has definitely hurt the team.

Subsequent to his international retirement, MS Dhoni has been in the spotlight. Chennai Super Kings usually stick to their guns and make sure they find a victor every time they play. But since the captain has been trying out different options and combinations, it has been a tough journey for the franchise. There is no doubt that the team will come back strong in the upcoming weeks in the IPL, but their performance in the first two weeks has not been up to the mark. CSK gets a rating of 6!

Kings XI Punjab started off their campaign with a powerful performance against the Delhi Capitals. However, the match went into a Super Over and KXIP found themselves on the losing side. Playing an inspiring knock, almost winning the game single-handedly, Mayank Agarwal managed to score 89 off 60 balls. Although the opening batting partnership was solid, others failed to provide support to the set batsmen.

KXIP, led by KL Rahul, is one of the best batsmen India has produced. The coaching staff headed by Anil Kumble brings in a lot of experience. The team, this year, looks quite strong and stable. The top-heavy batting side is yet to introduce Chris Gayle into IPL 2020. The likes of <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2020-heres-why-mohammed-shamis-back-is-covered-by-large-red-circles/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mohammed Shami </a>and Sheldon Cottrell, and young spinners in the squad have provided KXIP with the X-factor they need to do well in the tournament.

Koltaka Knight Riders, led by Dinesh Karthik, did not start well in the tournament. Dinesh Karthik&#8217;s captaincy was under the scanner after the side lost the match against MI quite disappointedly. Not using his resources well, DK had to come back with a better plan. And he did. Along with Brendon McCullum in the think tank, KKR bounced back in grand fashion.

KKR&#8217;s strength this year has been two youngsters- <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/they-used-to-be-in-my-kitbag-now-all-have-been-taken-yuvraj-singh-takes-a-cheeky-dig-at-shubman-gill/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Shubman Gill </a>in the batting department and Shivam Mavi in the bowling. However, this year the most concerning fact has been the failure of Sunil Narine batting at the top. His quick-fire knock can provide the team with the start they need. But he has not fired yet so far in the tournament. Maybe, it is time for the captain and the coaching staff to look for a different opener.

Rajasthan Royals led by the great Steve Smith is a well-balanced side in the IPL. The Royals kick-started IPL 2020 with a comprehensive win against the mighty Chennai Super Kings. Scoring more than 200 runs, the RR bowlers managed to stop the in-form CSK batsmen from chasing the target down. Steve Smith has led from the front for Royals. The side is well-balanced with enough firepower to finish well.

<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/i-know-how-much-it-hurts-sachin-tendulkar-lauds-sanju-samson-for-his-brilliant-catch-to-dismiss-pat-cummins/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sanju Samson</a> stunned cricket fans with a splendid knock of 74 off just 32 balls in the first match. The amazing partnership between the skipper Smith and Sanju allowed RR to mount a massive total. Scoring in excess of 200 twice in two consecutive matches is definitely a great sign for the side. Rajasthan Royals have a young set of passionate cricketers who are yet to stand up to the occasion.

Stealing a scintillating finish against the KXIP, Rajasthan Royals have certainly ticked all boxes. The knock of Rahul Tewatia earned two points for the side. He also smashed five sixes in an over. The game against the red-hot Royal Challengers Bangalore put the team under a huge amount of pressure. The fall of early wickets while batting and the inability of the bowlers to pick the wickets cost RR the game. RR get a rating of 7.5!

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are a side with great potential. Led by the Aussie David Warner, SRH lifted the IPL trophy in the year 2016. But since then, they haven&#8217;t replicated their performance up to that level. IPL 2020 didn&#8217;t start off well for SRH as they fell short of chasing against the RCB. Since then, the captain has decided to use the strategy of batting first and giving his bowlers the opportunity to defend the totals.

The side is filled with some great Indian talent. However, they all have not yet found enough success. The opening pair, Warner and Bairstow, need to fire every match to ensure SRH gets a decent score on the board. The experience of Manish Pandey often helps SRH bat well.

But its the inconsistent middle-order that is creating problems for SRH. The bowling department looks strong with Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading the pace attack and <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2020-srhs-rashid-khan-focussed-on-bowling-economically-as-per-teams-requirement/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Rashid Khan</a> in their spin armoury. Kumar&#8217;s injury during the match against CSK is a huge concern for SRH.

SRH finally broke the curse and won the match against the Delhi Capitals. Thanks to the wonderful bowling effort of T Natarajan, SRH were able to restrict DC from chasing the total. SRH have won two out of their four games. The tournament is long and the captain will eventually find his best XI as the tournament goes on. However, for their performance in the first two weeks of the IPL, SRH get a rating of 8!

3.  Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) &#8211; 8.5

Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the most followed and loved franchises in the IPL. Surprisingly, they do not have an IPL trophy to show for. Finishing up as runners-up several times, RCB, over the years, have shown they indeed possess what it takes to be successful. More often then not, the RCB squad are studded with superstars across the globe. This year is no different. RCB started off their journey pretty well with a victory against SRH.

Virat Kohli, Mike Hesson, and Simon Katich have done their homework. RCB have a clear death-bowling issue. Although few combinations were tried, nothing seems to be working for them. The experienced Indian pacer Umesh Yadav needs to step up and take responsibility along with Navdeep Saini if RCB want to be successful this year.

The inclusion of Chris Morris will strengthen the bowling attack. Isuru Udana, the Sri Lankan pace bowler, seemed to have provided RCB with the necessary variations with cutters and slower-balls. Chahal has always provided breakthroughs for RCB consistently. Whenever there&#8217;s a partnership to be broken, Virat turns to Chahal and the latter never disappoints.

The nail-biting contest against the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2020-match-13-kxip-vs-mi-mumbai-indians-player-ratings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mumbai Indians</a> tested the ability of RCB bowlers. Scoring almost 90 runs in the last five overs, Kieron Pollard and young Ishan Kishan managed to tie the game. Saini&#8217;s execution of the yorkers was inspiring and RCB managed to clinch a victory.

The major concern for RCB this year has been the form of Kohli. But he accounced his arrival with a sparkling knock of 72* against the Rajasthan Royals.  The youngster Devdutt Padikkal has shocked the cricketing world by scoring three 50&#8217;s in the four games and the team has marched on with great confidence. RCB gets a rating of 8.5!

Delhi Capitals are one of the most underrated sides in the IPL and the team has got off to a great start, considering their upsetting performances over the years. Led by the young captain Shreyas Iyer, DC also has Ricky Ponting to guide the team through the tournament. DC were able to include some wonderful cricketers into the side.

Having a squad filled with Indian superstars, DC have the capability to function with minimum assistance from overseas cricketers. Having the experienced Shikhar Dhawan, Ravi Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane, Delhi certainly look deadly. The team-balance looks quite good. The pace attack led by <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/dinesh-karthik-names-three-kkr-players-he-would-trade-to-get-kagiso-rabada-shreyas-iyer-and-r-ashwin-from-dc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Kagiso Rabada </a>and Amit Mishra, in the spin department, provide DC with enough skillset to dominate in the IPL.

The side have a very solid batting line-up. The strong openers are followed by some experienced middle-order batsmen. The heavy foreign finishers give DC the best chance to put up good totals. With the batting department taken care of, the bowling attack with the likes of Rabada, Ishant Sharma, and Anrich Nortje looks fierce.

If the fielders do a decent job, DC will be looking at a spot on the playoffs this year. Every team will find an eleven for the tournament; it matters whether on match-day, the side grab hold of the opportunities or not. Delhi Capitals have more a decent chance this year. For their performance in the first two weeks in the IPL, the get a rating of 9!

Mumbai Indians are the current defending champs. Owning up to that title, they have been performing well so far in the IPL 2020. Losing the league-opener against the Chennai Super Kings did create a bit of concern. But they bounced back with a crushing victory against the KKR.

Taking the match against RCB into the Super Over can be seen as a great effort for the MI. Scoring almost 90 runs in the last five overs, MI jumped back into a game that was virtually out of their hand.

Mumbai Indians are a franchise that has most IPL trophies in the bank. Playing with the same core team year by year, Mumbai Indians are known to be slow starters. They don&#8217;t find success early in the tournament but go on winning each and every game towards the end of the tournament.

Winning two out of their four games, MI stands with four points on the table. The squad is led by Rohit Sharma and he is an inspiration to the team. Already scoring 170 runs in the four innings he has played, Rohit has led the team by example.

Mumbai Indians have a healthy Net Run Rate so far in the tournament and the defending champs looks deadly as ever. The bowling duo of <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/jasprit-bumrah-has-been-phenomenal-in-death-overs-zaheer-khan-ahead-of-rcb-mi-encounter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Jasprit Bumrah</a> and Trent Boult provide MI with the bowling firepower they need in the beginning and at the end.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are a side with great potential. Led by the Aussie David Warner, SRH lifted the IPL trophy in the year 2016. But since then, they haven’t replicated their performance up to that level. IPL 2020 didn’t start off well for SRH as they fell short of chasing against the RCB. Since then, the captain has decided to use the strategy of batting first and giving his bowlers the opportunity to defend the totals.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the most followed and loved franchises in the IPL. Surprisingly, they do not have an IPL trophy to show for. Finishing up as runners-up several times, RCB, over the years, have shown they indeed possess what it takes to be successful. More often then not, the RCB squad are studded with superstars across the globe. This year is no different. RCB started off their journey pretty well with a victory against SRH.
Virat Kohli, Mike Hesson, and Simon Katich have done their homework. RCB have a clear death-bowling issue. Although few combinations were tried, nothing seems to be working for them. Delhi Capitals are one of the most underrated sides in the IPL and the team has got off to a great start, considering their upsetting performances over the years. Mumbai Indians are the current defending champs. Owning up to that title, they have been performing well so far in the IPL 2020. Losing the league-opener against the Chennai Super Kings did create a bit of concern. But they bounced back with a crushing victory against the KKR.
Taking the match against RCB into the Super Over can be seen as a great effort for the MI. Scoring almost 90 runs in the last five overs, MI jumped back into a game that was virtually out of their hand.
Mumbai Indians are a franchise that has most IPL trophies in the bank. Playing with the same core team year by year, Mumbai Indians are known to be slow starters. They don’t find success early in the tournament but go on winning each and every game towards the end of the tournament.
Winning two out of their four games, MI stands with four points on the table. The squad is led by Rohit Sharma and he is an inspiration to the team. Already scoring 170 runs in the four innings he has played, Rohit has led the team by example.
Mumbai Indians have a healthy Net Run Rate so far in the tournament and the defending champs looks deadly as ever. The bowling duo of <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/jasprit-bumrah-has-been-phenomenal-in-death-overs-zaheer-khan-ahead-of-rcb-mi-encounter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Jasprit Bumrah</a> and Trent Boult provide MI with the bowling firepower they need in the beginning and at the end.
Kieron Pollard has found himself useful with the ball in the slow tracks of UAE. Pollard’s hard-hitting capability has bough MI back into the game several times already in the tournament. If MI can perform as consistently as they did in the first two weeks of the IPL, we potentially may be looking at another year of MI’s dominance in the IPL. MI get a rating of 9.5!

With just two weeks into the tournament, the competition between the teams seems intense already.

Chennai Super Kings have been one of the best IPL franchises over the years. The team is led by the legend MS Dhoni since the beginning of the league. CSK have won three IPL trophies. Finishing as the runners-up in the IPL 2019, CSK missed out by the slightest of the margins. Also known for the aged cricketers in the side, CSK have managed to get the best out of each of them.
CSK have not had the ideal start in this year&#8217;s IPL. They started off with a victory against Mumbai Indians in the opener. However, it has gone downhill for them since then. Losing three consecutive matches is very unlike CSK. This year the squad had to make some necessary changes due to the unavailability of<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/happiest-that-my-record-is-broken-by-you-suresh-raina-congratulates-ms-dhoni-for-becoming-the-most-capped-ipl-player/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> Suresh Raina</a> and Harbhajan Singh. Their absence has definitely hurt the team.
Subsequent to his international retirement, MS Dhoni has been in the spotlight. Chennai Super Kings usually stick to their guns and make sure they find a victor every time they play. But since the captain has been trying out different options and combinations, it has been a tough journey for the franchise. Kings XI Punjab started off their campaign with a powerful performance against the Delhi Capitals. However, the match went into a Super Over and KXIP found themselves on the losing side. Playing an inspiring knock, almost winning the game single-handedly, Mayank Agarwal managed to score 89 off 60 balls. Although the opening batting partnership was solid, others failed to provide support to the set batsmen.
KXIP, led by KL Rahul, is one of the best batsmen India has produced. The coaching staff headed by Anil Kumble brings in a lot of experience. The team, this year, looks quite strong and stable. The top-heavy batting side is yet to introduce Chris Gayle into IPL 2020. The likes of <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2020-heres-why-mohammed-shamis-back-is-covered-by-large-red-circles/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mohammed Shami </a>and Sheldon Cottrell, and young spinners in the squad have provided KXIP with the X-factor they need to do well in the tournament.
Having won just one game in this year&#8217;s IPL, KXIP are with two points. Smacking a blistering ton against the RCB, KL Rahul took the game away from the opposition. KXIP were successful in defending the total, however, they haven&#8217;t had luck on their side since then.
Losing against RR was a huge disappointment for the KXIP. The bowlers weren&#8217;t able to hold the nerve in the death overs and gave too much away. Top concerns for KXIP has been the failure of the middle-order and the number of runs their death bowlers have given away. KXIP gets a rating of 6.5!

<h3>6. Koltaka Knight Riders (KKR) &#8211; 7</h3>

Koltaka Knight Riders, led by Dinesh Karthik, did not start well in the tournament. Dinesh Karthik&#8217;s captaincy was under the scanner after the side lost the match against MI quite disappointedly. Not using his resources well, DK had to come back with a better plan. And he did. Along with Brendon McCullum in the think tank, KKR bounced back in grand fashion.
KKR&#8217;s strength this year has been two youngsters- <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/they-used-to-be-in-my-kitbag-now-all-have-been-taken-yuvraj-singh-takes-a-cheeky-dig-at-shubman-gill/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Shubman Gill </a>in the batting department and Shivam Mavi in the bowling. Both have done extremely well so far in the tournament. Gill scored 47 and 70 in their winning cause against RR and SRH respectively. Andre Russell is a powerful cricketer and he adds so much value to the team. Kuldeep Yadav, over the years, has provided the side with some wonderful performances.
However, this year the most concerning fact has been the failure of Sunil Narine batting at the top. His quick-fire knock can provide the team with the start they need. But he has not fired yet so far in the tournament. Maybe, it is time for the captain and the coaching staff to look for a different opener.
The humiliating loss against the Delhi Capitals really put KKR in a bad space. They need to bounce back well in the remainder of the tournament. The team are well equipped with enough talent and experience. KKR get a rating of 7!

<h3>5. Rajasthan Royals (RR) &#8211; 7.5</h3>

Rajasthan Royals led by the great Steve Smith is a well-balanced side in the IPL. The Royals kick-started IPL 2020 with a comprehensive win against the mighty Chennai Super Kings. Scoring more than 200 runs, the RR bowlers managed to stop the in-form CSK batsmen from chasing the target down. Steve Smith has led from the front for Royals. The side is well-balanced with enough firepower to finish well.

Mumbai Indians are the current defending champs. Owning up to that title, they have been performing well so far in the IPL 2020. Losing the league-opener against the Chennai Super Kings did create a bit of concern. But they bounced back with a crushing victory against the KKR.
Taking the match against RCB into the Super Over can be seen as a great effort for the MI. Scoring almost 90 runs in the last five overs, MI jumped back into a game that was virtually out of their hand.
Mumbai Indians are a franchise that has most IPL trophies in the bank. Playing with the same core team year by year, Mumbai Indians are known to be slow starters. They don&#8217;t find success early in the tournament but go on winning each and every game towards the end of the tournament.
Winning two out of their four games, MI stands with four points on the table. The squad is led by Rohit Sharma and he is an inspiration to the team. Already scoring 170 runs in the four innings he has played, Rohit has led the team by example.
Mumbai Indians have a healthy Net Run Rate so far in the tournament and the defending champs looks deadly as ever. The bowling duo of <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/jasprit-bumrah-has-been-phenomenal-in-death-overs-zaheer-khan-ahead-of-rcb-mi-encounter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Jasprit Bumrah</a> and Trent Boult provide MI with the bowling firepower they need in the beginning and at the end.
Kieron Pollard has found himself useful with the ball in the slow tracks of UAE. Pollard&#8217;s hard-hitting capability has bough MI back into the game several times already in the tournament. If MI can perform as consistently as they did in the first two weeks of the IPL, we potentially may be looking at another year of MI&#8217;s dominance in the IPL. MI get a rating of 9.5!
