The Indian Premier League, since its start in the year 2008 has seen many great batsmen be a part of the league and showcase their talents of playing against the best bowlers from across the world, toying with them and hitting the most difficult deliveries into the stands for sixes with ease.

But one thing that remains uncommon is the ability to execute this task with consistency. Some batsmen come, hit runs in one edition and then are left out because of not being able to deliver consistently. The names featured in this list though, have been one of the most consistent players in both international and IPL cricket, and have built such a reputation that the opposite team has to devise a special strategy for them.

So, here’s a look at the top 5 players with the highest average in Indian Premier League (IPL):

The Sunrisers Hyderabad opener has fared well year after year in the Indian Premier League and has proven his excellent abilities with the bat in hand. And, owing to his ability to score heaps of runs against the toughest bowling attacks of the league, he is placed at the top of this list, with a run-scoring average of 43.17.

Warner has played in a total of 126 matches and has a total of 4706 runs to his name, one of the highest of all time, including 4 centuries and a staggering number of 44 half-centuries. His strike rate is also really high, currently resting at 142.39.

This season, Warner will be wanting to better his numbers and would want to lead his team with the bat to their second IPL victory, after having led them to the pole position in the 2016 season as the captain of the team.
