The business end of the Indian Premier League 2021 has arrived. In the first qualifier, we will witness the team who finished no. 1 on the points table, Delhi Capitals going up against Chennai Super Kings, who finished second on the points table. Given their standings and how these two teams have played this season, we can expect a cracking contest. This also leaves fans with ample opportunity to earn some fantasy points.

Here are three players to avoid in your fantasy teams for DC vs CSK game:

  1. Prithvi Shaw

The young opener has done quite well this season, crossing the barrier of 400 runs. He is coming into this match after a good knock of 48 runs against Bangalore, however, there is an issue with his technique which has been exposed by one of the Chennai bowlers.

It is Deepak Chahar, who has dismissed Shaw six times in the IPL. Now, that might strike as a random fact, but this season itself, Chahar dismissed Shaw just a few matches ago. MS Dhoni is smart enough to know about this fact and Chahar will be running into Shaw in this crucial encounter. It is better to go for someone else in this contest.

  1. MS Dhoni

This one is purely based on one vs one. There are two options in this category for choosing a wicketkeeper, Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni. Both the players are capable of troubling the scorers on their day, but there is no one denying at this moment that Dhoni’s form is not at its best.

The former Indian skipper has struggled right through the tournament and only managed to score 96 runs with the bat. Yes, it does help that he is a wicketkeeper and he will get some points through the dismissals, but it is better to go with Pant, who is expected to play a more central role in Delhi’s batting. He has already scored 362 runs with the bat this season.

  1. Kagiso Rabada

The South African pacer has been one of the most valuable overseas players in the league. In the last two editions of the tournament, he had picked up 55 wickets in 29 matches. However, this season, the wicket-taking machine hasn’t really played in a similar fashion.

He still has had a good season, picking up 13 wickets from 13 matches. But, this tells you that his ability to take multiple wickets in the same game has relatively reduced this season. On the other hand, in this contest, there are bowlers who have done pretty well to deserve a place in your fantasy team. There are options like Anrich Nortje, Shardul Thakur, Dwayne Bravo and Avesh Khan.
