The Punjab Kings started their campaign with a nail-biting finish against Rajasthan Royals. Having got a winning start, they would be looking to take on the Chennai Super Kings in a clash, which is likely to be another high-scoring match. In the matches that have been played at the Wankhede Stadium so far during the IPL 2021, bowlers have been at the mercy of the batsmen.

Both the teams have stars who are likely to perform on the day for their respective sides. However, for the fans who are looking to gain big with some fantasy match points, it is important to take note of each and every players’ recent form.

Here are 3 players whom you should avoid in your fantasy playing XI for the match between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings

1. MS Dhoni

The Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has not been in the best of form since the start of the IPL 2020. Last season he ended with 200 runs along with an average of 25 and a strike rate of 116.27 from his 14 matches. His numbers have not been this low in any of the editions of the IPL before.

He started the 2020 season on a scratchy note as well, getting a two-ball duck in CSK’s first match against Delhi Capitals. Looking at his recent run and lack of cricket, it seems that not betting on Dhoni is a better option.

2. Deepak Chahar

Like his captain, Deepak Chahar’s form has also dropped considerably. At the beginning of 2020, he suffered an injury. He returned after a long break in the IPL 2020 but hasn’t been as effective as his formative years. Last season, he picked up 12 wickets from 14 matches, at an average of 33.

His frequency of taking wickets has lowered by a margin. On top of that, Mumbai’s flat wicket will not aid Chahar’s style of bowling. He could be seen ending up without any wickets for CSK in this match as he did in the opening game against Delhi Capitals.

3. Murugan Ashwin

The wicket at the Wankhede Stadium doesn’t support leg-spinners at all. It is not easy for them to get away on this track. In the previous match, Rajasthan Royals looked to attack on Murugan Ashwin from the word go and were successful in getting his confidence down.

He ended up giving 43 runs from his four overs. With CSK having good players all through their batting order, it will be difficult for M Ashwin to control them. And we could see him getting bashed all over the park in this match as well.
