The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will see light from April 9 in Chennai. With the highly-anticipated T20 Championship just a couple of days away, the players both overseas and Indian have started assembling at the training and practice camps set up by their respective IPL franchises.

April 2, Friday saw the arrival of Australia’s dynamic opening batsman David Warner along with New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and Brad Haddin in the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) camp set up in Chennai. This time the Orange Army will be conducting their training camp for the upcoming T20 Championship in Chennai as they will play their first five games of the season in Chennai at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

SRH campaign in IPL 2021 will begin with a game against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 11 and they won’t be playing even a single match in their home ground in Hyderabad to eliminate the home advantage as BCCI has decided to host the entire tournament in neutral venues.

SRH took to their official Twitter handle to announce the arrival of their skipper Warner, ace-batsman Williamson, and the team’s assistant coach Brad Haddin. Posting a picture of three veterans posing together, the franchise wrote, “The eagles have landed. We repeat the eagles have landed! Welcoming skipper, Kane, and Brad Haddin to Chennai. Let’s go Risers!”

David Warner was the highest run-getter for SRH in IPL 2020

The 2020 edition hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) once again witnessed the dominance of Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner as he led from the front and played a huge part in SRH’s success in the marquee league. The left-hander was at his fluent best with the willow and ended up with 548 runs in just 16 games at an average of 39.14 and a stunning strike rate of 134.64.

Coming to the performance of the Orange Army, they finished at the third position on the points table after winning 7 out of their 14 league games. The franchise reached the semi-finals after defeating the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Eliminator but their campaign in IPL 2020 came to an end after facing defeat from Delhi Capitals (DC) in the semi-finals.
