The story between Sunrisers Hyderabad and David Warner has been something that is being talked about a lot this year. After serving as the backbone of the franchise’s batting for several years, a few poor games and loss of form saw Warner being sacked from captaincy and subsequently being dropped from the playing XI.
All of that happened in India. When the UAE leg started, it seemed that the Aussie southpaw had one more shot at reviving his career at SRH. But that didn’t happen as, after two more poor knocks in the UAE, he was dropped from the XI again. In some of the subsequent matches, he did not travel with the team to the stadium and stayed back at the hotel.
After all these incidents, there was extreme speculation that Warner might not get retained by the franchise for the upcoming seasons. With some of his social media posts and engagements, Warner also hinted that his time at the franchise might just have been over. Ahead of the final of the IPL 2021 between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, an unexplained incident happened.
David Warner’s post with CSK jersey was not taken well by the fans on social media
On October 15, Warner posted an artwork that was made by one of his daughters who is a fan of CSK. In the artwork, Warner was seen in a CSK jersey with his daughter on his back. He posted the picture on Instagram and shared a link to it on Twitter. He wrote, “I wasn’t sure who to go for tonight but I could not say no to this Fan who asked me to post this!!”

However, after some time he deleted the post on Instagram and instead uploaded another picture of him and his daughter wearing the Sunrisers Hyderabad jersey. He also clarified that the artwork was based on this picture, which he claims is the original. He also wrote, “Here’s the original, too many people were upset. What’s your prediction for tonight everyone? #ipl #cricket #sorry”
The motive behind deleting the picture could’ve been the hostile response from his fans. The loyalty which the Australian batter has towards the Hyderabad franchise has been pretty evident in the last few days. During one of the games, he was also seen in the stand waving the flag of his team.
