Royal Challengers Bangalore have made a strong start in IPL 2021 as they won their second consecutive match of this edition. They defeated SRH by 6 runs defending a modest total. They earlier won their first game against Mumbai. The Bangalore team was asked to bat first after losing the toss.

RCB posted a total of 149/8 in 20 overs with the help of a fine fifty from Glenn Maxwell. The Aussie all-rounder scored 59 runs off 41 balls which included 5 fours and 3 sixes. Jason Holder picked up 3 wickets for 30 runs in his four-over spell.

Chasing this total, SRH captain David Warner smashed a brilliant fifty. He scored 54 runs off 37 balls with the help of 7 fours and 1 six. The Hyderabad team had once scored 96/1 in 13.1 overs and were cruising to an easy win. From there, they lost 8 wickets for only 46 runs. SRH could manage only 143/9 in 20 overs and lost the game.

877– David Warner now holds the record for most runs (877) against RCB in T20 cricket. He surpassed MS Dhoni (834) in this regard.

3 – Shahbaz Ahmed bowled brilliantly in this match taking 3 wickets for 7 runs in his 2 overs. He became the third bowler to pick a 3-fer for RCB while bowling only 2 overs in an IPL match.

6- In the last 8 games whenever Manish Pandey has scored over 30 runs for SRH, the team has ended up on the losing side 6 times. He struggled in this game and could score only 38 runs off 39 balls.
