IPL 2021: Newly-wed Sanjana Ganesan heads straight to IPL duties after honeymoon

There is hardly time to breathe in the competitive world. Take former model and currently Star Sports broadcaster Sanjana Ganesan, who tied nuptial knots with Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah last month, for example. The 14^th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 gets underway with the defending champs, Mumbai Indians, taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Ganesan, a renowned presenter and host, is one of the 18-member team that is supposed to handle all the feeds across IPL for Star Sports and she is back to her duty within a month of her marriage. The newly-wed recently took Instagram to share a throwback picture captioned as: “Memories worth a lifetime & then some.” Reacting on it, his Indian pacer Bumrah commented: “The person clicking the picture is really good.” The string of responses did not halt there as Sanjana, in response, posted “That’s why I married him.”

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indian pacer entered quarantine in Chennai, gearing up to join his Indian Premier League franchise ahead of IPL 2021, which is set to commence from today.

Commentators all set for IPL 2021

The likes of former West Indies batsman Brian Lara and Australian speedster Brett Lee will be in attendance to grace the ‘Select Dugout’ with detailed analytical commentary.

“It feels good to be back in the Dugout once again with the best in the business. The brand-new season involves tones of the latest innovations in technology and broadcast to provide our viewers with an immersive experience and deliver on the proposition of ‘more game per game.” said Lara in a media release. I am excited about the new format where different IPL legends will be interacting with us remotely during the game,” he added.

On the other hand, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, and cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Irfan Pathan are among the nine panelists named for the Hindi commentary team for the 14th edition of the IPL.

Ahead of the tournament, Gautam Gambhir stated: “The popularity of commentary in Hindi has grown over the years and I’m glad to be back for another exciting season of IPL that brings the country together. Each year, as part of the Hindi commentary panel, we try to introduce new elements to keep fans engaged and add to their viewing experience and we will keep the momentum going in this edition too. Every team has its winning mantra and it will be interesting to see the teams battle it out this time for yet another entertaining tournament.”
