Pat Cummins, the Australian fast bowler, recently, played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. In the tournament, he bowled with a lot of heart though he couldn’t pick up a whole lot of wickets. With the bat, he scored a magnificent half-century against the Chennai Super Kings albeit he couldn’t take his team over the finishing line.

In the tournament, he picked up nine wickets and scored 93 runs before the event had to be postponed for an indefinite time period. The BCCI deferred the league amidst the coronavirus pandemic. In the meantime, Cummins shared a vlog on YouTube about his journey from Australia to Chennai for the T20 league in India.

Cummins and his Australian teammates are yet to return to Australia due to travel restrictions. The Aussie players have flown to the Maldives for serving the isolation period. Cummins was earlier lauded after he donated a hefty amount to the PM-Cares Fund, an initiative by Honourable Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The netizens on the social media platforms hailed him as a hero. Cummins has been a prolific bowler for Australia in all three formats of the game.

As far as the IPL is concerned, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly recently said that it’s tough for the tournament to be organised in India. The Indian board is also looking to a window in the month of September to finish the remaining matches of the event.
