The Qualifier one of IPL 2021 between CSK and DC became nothing less than a fairy tale for MS Dhoni’s fans. While the team needed him the most, he once again finished off things in style and proved all that class is permanent. Playing first, DC posted a fine total of 172 runs on the board and CSK were looking all good to grab the place in the finals.

Dhoni’s game-changing cameo of 18* off just six balls won all the hearts and he became the talk of the town in a minute. In the same line of events, PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta lauded MSD’s knock and added how he always inspires his players by giving his best and maintaining his calm demeanor.

“Wow what a match. My heart goes out to the young #DC team. Hard luck boys & all the best for the next game. Tonight belonged to #CSK. #Dhoni the finisher leading from the front, inspiring his players to give their best & keeping his cool at all times 👍 #DCvsCSK @IPL #Finisher,” tweeted Zinta.

MS Dhoni leads CSK to a record 9th IPL finals

After losing Faf du Plessis’s wicket, CSK stumbled for a bit but went on to build a great 2nd wicket partnership owing to heroics by Ruturaj Gaikwad (70 off 50) and Robin Uthappa (63 off 44). However, they had some hiccups towards the end and it was only then when the CSK skipper walked in style to handle all the responsibility. He promoted himself ahead of Jadeja and played a match-winning knock to storm CSK through their 9th finale.

“It’s the full team (effort). It was tough when we didn’t qualify last time. Emotions were quite high. Forget what has happened till now, we wanted to make the most of the 3-4 games left towards the end. A lot of our batters made the most of that period which is why I feel we have come back strongly this year. Credit goes to the support staff and everyone on the team. Without their character you can’t really come back like this,” said Dhoni after the match against DC.
