One of the key members of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) side, Ben Stokes flew back home on 17th April 2021 after an injury to his finger ruled him out of the entire 2021 IPL edition. Stokes suffered the injury in the match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) side.

In the only match that Stokes played in the 14th IPL edition, he was dismissed for a three-ball duck. With the ball too, Stokes could not make an impact and went for 12 runs in the only over that he bowled.

And now, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise has tweeted regarding Ben Stokes’ departure. Confirming that the England cricketer has flown back to England, the official Twitter handle of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) side wished Stokes a speedy recovery. The Rajasthan side also gifted Stokes a signed jersey bearing the name of his late father, Ged Stokes.

The Rajasthan Royals have experienced a bitter-sweet start to their 2021 IPL campaign. In their first match of IPL 2021, they went down to the Punjab Kings (PBKS) side in a nail-biting encounter by a margin of just 4 runs. And, in their next game, they came back from the brink to beat the Delhi Capitals (DC) in yet another thrilling last-over finish with 3 wickets to spare.

Next up, the Rajasthan Royals will clash against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 19th April 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Rajasthan side has won the IPL title once, in the year 2008. In the last 2 editions though, the side has not managed to reach the playoffs. In fact, in the 13th edition of the IPL that was held in the UAE, the 2008 IPL champions finished at last place.
