Twitter India has launched a new feature ahead of the IPL 2021, which has caught the eye of many fans on the micro-blogging site. Twitter introduced new emojis with hashtags that are all related to the franchises of the IPL. However, there was an error spotted by many of the fans, as far as the hashtag of Royal Challengers Bangalore was concerned.

It was seen that the hashtag of the Bangalore franchise actually had a yellow jersey which was similar to that of the Chennai Super Kings. The emoji, which was basically used for RCB related hashtags had the jersey of CSK instead. The mistake which is presumably done by Twitter has not been fixed yet.

The mistake was noticed by the fans and soon it started trending on social media. The social media of CSK was quick to make a joke about the incident. They uploaded a meme in which they tagged Twitter and pointed out the big mistake in getting the emoji right. Soon, RCB’s social media team joined and took a dig at Twitter.

Franchises’ official handles get into a banter

In a tweet from their official handle, RCB tagged Twitter’s official page and Twitter India and said that it seems that they need better tech engineers to not make these mistakes. They also said that Bengaluru itself is a good place to start hiring, referencing the huge IT sector in the city.

“Hey @Twitter @TwitterIndia, looks like you need better tech engineers. Bengaluru is the right place to start hiring. #WhatsWithYourEmojis,” they tweeted. Furthermore, Rajasthan Royals joined Chennai Super Kings to troll the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They posted a picture of an Indian wedding where there is a Haldi ceremony going on.

In the picture, it can be seen that a woman is putting yellow coloured-haldi on the face of a young guy. The banter went on as some of the fans also joined in, posting memes around this glitch. Interestingly, RCB also hit back at RR and reminded them not to poke their nose in between.
