Rohit Sharma and his Mumbai Indians teammates will be eyeing history in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 14th edition of the competition will begin on April 9 with a mouth-watering clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Mumbai-based outfit will have an opportunity to become the first team to win the IPL thrice in a row. Last year, they became just the second team after Chennai Super Kings to defend their IPL title. The five-time champions will be also looking to become the first team to win the IPL six times. No other team has managed to win the tournament more than three times.

The Rohit Sharma-led side are one of the firm favourites for the upcoming season. With the likes of Rohit, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, and several other big guns in their ranks, Mumbai are being widely backed to defend their title.

Rohit Sharma’s adorable moment with daughter Samaira

Rohit Sharma joined the Mumbai Indians camp on Monday, just one day after the conclusion of the ODI series against England. The right-handed batsman doesn’t need to undergo quarantine since he entered the bio-bubble directly from another bubble. Rohit’s family is also with him in the bubble and the batsman is making the most of his time with his wife and daughter.

Mumbai Indians, on Wednesday, shared an adorable video of their skipper spending some candid moments with his daughter Samaira.  The video began with Rohit making his daughter wear his helmet while his wife Ritika Sajdeh was also sitting beside him. Soon after Samaira donned the helmet, his father told her, “You look like a wicketkeeper.”

Ritika then joined the conversation by saying that Samaira looks like ‘Rishabh [Pant] chachu’. Ritika also asked Samaira to show how her father hits a six and she duly obliged in an adorable manner. Mrs. Sharma further pointed to the Mumbai Indians logo on the helmet, asking Samaira what it is. Samaira then made her father smile by correctly saying “Mumbai Indians”.
