Sometimes on the cricket field, players can fumble and create one of the most hilarious moments for the fans. One such moment was created by Trent Boult during the match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai on Saturday. The incident became instantly viral on social media.

The incident happened while Mumbai Indians were defending their total of 150 against Hyderabad. David Warner and Jonny Bairstow were timing the ball beautifully and trying to put the pressure on the Mumbai bowlers. Bairstow launched an assault on the bowling and he scored 43 runs off 22 balls.

The opening partnership managed to score 67 runs from 44 balls. During the partnership, Warner just punched a ball through the covers. Trent Boult who was standing at mid-off starting chasing the ball. The ball was going at a normal speed but it was enough for Boult to still be on the chase. However, while he was running, he lost control.

As he lost his control, Boult tried his best to keep his feet up but he eventually fell down as the ball went and crashed on the boundary cushions. As he fell down, his face went down on the ground with disappointment. The commentators who were on air also had a little fun about the incident cracking a few jokes.

Here’s the video:

Speaking about the match, Mumbai Indians batted first and managed 150 for 5 on the back of the cameos Kieron Pollard (35 off 22 balls), Quinton de Kock (40 runs off 39 balls), and Rohit Sharma (32 runs off 25 balls). Mujeeb ur Rahman and Vijay Shankar picked up two wickets each. The slowness of the pitch got the better of the batsmen yet again at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Surprisingly, even the pitches at the Wankhede Stadium have turned slow going by the last two matches. The Chennai and Mumbai leg will go on until April 26 before the focus shifts to Ahmedabad and Delhi.
