Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore locked horns with each other for the Match 35 of the Indian Premier League. The match between these two teams is always highly anticipated as the onlookers are all raring to watch MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli battle it out against each other. However, before the start of the match, a sandstorm hit the Sharjah Cricket Stadium and the toss was delayed.

Both Kohli and Dhoni used this opportunity to have a prolonged chat prior to the match. They have played a lot of cricket together for team India and the special bond between the two players is well-known to all. Kohli on many occasions has spoken about the respect and admiration he has for Dhoni. Kohli took the responsibility of leading team India while Dhoni was still in the team and both of them thus share a good relationship on and off the field.

Hence, it did not come as a surprise when the two got engaged in an interaction as the toss was delayed. Dhoni has recently been appointed as the mentor of team India for the T20 World Cup 2021. As it was the first time since the announcement that both the players have faced each other, one might wonder if the two were having discussions about the World Cup already. IPL took it to Twitter to post the video wherein both the captains were seen having a chat.

Virat Kohli raring to lead India to T20 World Cup glory

Recently, Kohli announced that he would step down as team India’s T20 captain post the T20 World Cup 2021. This decision of Kohli fetched in a lot of reactions from the cricketing fraternity. However, heading into the mega event Kohli would aim to lead the team to victory and secure his first ICC trophy as a captain.

With Dhoni as the mentor of the side, the team will benefit from his experience. Opening up about this, the former India cricketer Virender Sehwag stated that Dhoni’s appointment will help India’s bowling unit.

“As a keeper, MS was exceptional with his understanding of field placements and this is something that will help the bowling unit in this World Cup. The bowlers can pick his brains and get useful tips on planning against a batsman. There are always players in any international side, who are shy and do hesitate to go up to their skipper and strike up a cricketing conversation. MS has always been that kind of a person who is easily approachable and also a perfect troubleshooter for youngsters,” Sehwag said as quoted by TOI.
