Delhi was looking to fill a gap with a fast-bowling all-rounder as they didn’t have the services of Marcus Stoinis or Chris Woakes this season. However, even after being injured pre-season, Nagarkoti was trusted by Delhi Management and they brought him for a whopping 1.10 crore. Bowling over 145 kmph, Kamlesh Nagarkoti turned heads during India’s successful campaign at the 2018 U-19 World Cup. But, Kamlesh hasn’t been able to live up to the hype of being a fast-bowling all-rounder in the IPL so far.

As yet, Kamlesh has picked up five wickets in the seven matches representing KKR in the IPL. Kamlesh is a nippy bowler who clocks above 140+ regularly, is a gun fielder, and is no mug with the bat either. In the 2017 and 2018 seasons for India’s under-19 team, Nagarkoti picked 10 and 9 wickets respectively while giving away under 4.50 runs per over. Kamlesh had also scored 113 runs in the five innings at a healthy average of 37.66 in 2017.

Delhi doesn’t have a proper fast bowling all-rounder apart from Shardul Thakur. Hence, the Capitals can look towards Kamlesh Nagarkoti to give the team some extra depth in both the bowling and batting departments. Nagarkoti, who is also an athlete in the field, can also help them save some extra runs with those 22-year-old fresh legs.
