The MI franchise has faced a grieving start in IPL 2022. So far both with the bat and ball, the blue and gold army looks unsettled and clueless. Just in their first four matches, MI has used a total of 15 players which is joint second-most in the competition.

In fact, in their last game against RCB, the management surprised everyone by playing with only two overseas players. Overall, after the 2015 season, MI has again lost the first four games consecutively in the tournament. They will be facing the Punjab Kings in their next game and the time has come for the five-time champions to turn around their campaign like they did in 2015.

Therefore in this list, let’s check out three changes that MI needs to make in their next game Punjab Kings.

1. Suryakumar Yadav at number three

After his injury comeback, Suryakumar Yadav has been MI’s best batter. At number four, Surya has struck two blistering fifties and has even batted till the end. In fact against RCB, the cricketer went unbeaten on 68 runs. But with MI exhibiting the worst run-rate (6.75) in the 7-16 overs stage, Sky should be promoted to number three.

Against PBKS, the MI team can expect themselves to either chase a big total or post a sizeable target. Compared to MI, Punjab has accelerated the best in the middle overs along with RR. The likes of Dhawan, Livingstone and Rajapaksa have taken the opponent’s bowling to the cleaners very easily. Additionally against RCB, Mumbai’s two openers also provided a watchful start in the power play. But with Sky then helming the middle overs can accelerate the batting innings at any point in time.

Overall as MI has lacked stability in their batting department, Surya is the best batter who should face the maximum deliveries. All in all, the 31-year old has also looked the most well-settled batter at Pune’s two-paced tracks.
