4. Shardul Thakur – 23

Like Kuldeep Yadav, Thakur was another new addition to the Delhi Capitals franchise this year. He was released by the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the mega auction and was roped in by DC. Thakur played all the games for the Capitals and was hit for 23 sixes in the 14 matches, thereby conceding 138 runs off just the maximums, out of the 473 total runs given away.

DC paid a whopping INR 10.75 crore for Thakur, but the seamer could not stand up to the expectations. He played a few worthy knocks with the bat but failed to impress with the ball. He averaged 31.53 and his economy was also on the higher end, marked at 9.78.

Thakur registered his best figures of the season by scalping four wickets in the match against the Punjab Kings, which helped his side clinch a victory, but he went on to concede 36 runs in his four-over spell.
