The ‘Baby AB’ of the Lucknow Super Giants is undoubtedly one of the most impressive youngsters this season. He scored a gutsy fifty on his IPL debut, even when his team was in trouble. Ayush Badoni has been phenomenal in a few of his appearances in IPL.

He is a live wire in the field and his multi-dimensional gameplay makes him a complete package in the shortest format of the game. He played just five Syed Mushtaq Ali games before making his IPL debut but Badoni is a serious cricketing talent.

The Delhi boy had amazing days for Indian U-19 too. He performed with both bat and ball against the Sri Lanka U-19 in youth Tests in 2018. Badoni was a member of the champion Indian side in the 2018 ACC U-19 Asia Cup. He is surely going to be one pf the future superstars.

2. Tilak Varma

A promising southpaw from Hyderabad, Tilak Varma has had impressive outings in the first week of IPL. He had big shoes to fill in MI’s batting line-up in the absence of the likes of Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav (injury) but he has done a fine job. He has shown everyone that he can make quickfire runs and can also give stability after fall of early wickets.

His knock of 61 off 33 balls against Rajasthan Royals is enough to understand what a player he is. MI had huge expectations while bidding for him at the auction. Varma made his T20 debut for Hyderabad in the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The 19-year-old was a part of the Indian side for the 2020 U-19 World Cup. MI has been a franchise that has groomed many young players into match-winners. Tilak Varma can be the next product from the Mumbai Indians.

3. Raj Bawa

The Indian cricket team is craving for a pace all-rounder for ages. Hopefully, they will get one in the form of Raj Angad Bawa. Bawa was the most impressive player from the champion Indian team of the 2022 U-19 World Cup. He had a brilliant tournament with both bat and ball.

Bawa can bowl at 140 Km/h consistently and can also slog the cricket ball. The former international cricketers were impressed with the youngster, and he received tons of praises after his breathtaking knock against Uganda in the World Cup.

Bawa also took a five-wicket haul against England in the finals of the U-19 World Cup. He is the grandson of Tarlochan Bawa, who was a member of the Olympic gold-winning Indian hockey team in 1948. Punjab Kings purchased him for INR 2 crore at the IPL 2022 mega auction.

4. Chetan Sakariya

Chetan Sakariya was the find of IPL 2021. He had an amazing season with Rajasthan Royals and this year, he is with the Delhi Capitals. Sakariya is a versatile left-arm medium-pacer from Saurashtra. Rajasthan Royals had purchased him for INR 1.2 crore in the 2021 season and he was worth every penny in that season.

His good performances in IPL 2021 made way for him to debut for India. Sakariya made his ODI and T20I during India’s tour of Sri Lanka in 2021. He has been playing domestic cricket since 2018, and has been a regular feature for Saurashtra. Delhi Capitals will need some good performances from  him in 2022.

The 24-year-old can be a solid contender to win the emerging player award. His journey to the top level of cricket was never easy. Despite facing many hurdles, he stayed focused and determined toward his goal. He is now an important member of DC’s bowling line-up for the 2022 season.

5. Ravi Bishnoi

The Lucknow Super Giants picked Ravi Bishnoi as a draft pick before the mega auction for IPL 2022. The LSG skipper KL Rahul has a lot of faith in the leg-spinner. His good performances for Punjab Kings in the last few seasons made way for him to make T20I debut for India.

The leg-spinner has the ability to take wickets and his arm-speed makes him quite similar to Rashid Khan. Bishnoi has taken some big wickets such as Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni through his magical googlies and he is a certain threat to the batters.

The 21-year-old has picked 26 wickets in 26 IPL games at an average of 26.65. He is eligible for the award and he definitely is one of the front-runners to win it. Bishnoi bowls the most difficult overs for LSG and is set to taste a lot of success in IPL 2022.
