Umesh Yadav did not find bids in the initial round of the auction and it seemed like the pacer would go unsold in this year’s auction until his former side Kolkata Knight Riders jumped in and brought Yadav for his base price of INR 2 Crores.

The speedster began his IPL career with the Delhi Daredevils in 2010 with whom he continued till 2014. The Kolkata Knight Riders brought him in 2014 with whom he won the IPL in his first year with side. The Eden Gardens, which has usually helped the pacers, worked in favor of Umesh as the Indian pacer went on to become a crucial member of the KKR team. In his time with Kolkata, Umesh picked up 48 wickets, still the fourth highest in the franchise’s history.

With good memories of being a part of the KKR set-up, Umesh will surely look forward to playing a key role in the franchise’s campaign in the upcoming season.
